Re: New Green bean
Got a few things done in the last few months....
56" Tuff Country soft ride rear springs with a shackle flip kit from ORD, got rid of the blocks and the worn out springs. Got the Dana 70U with discs in and emergency brake hooked up. Longer springs extended the wheel base about 6" and a much better ride. 5" Apitong wood in the flatbed......I used stainless bolts & locknuts, one per board, skipped a crossmember. I wish I would of went a different route on attaching the planks because after a few months the boards have warped and I'm not diggin' it. Probably should of went with 2 bolts per board and every crossmember. Still working on the headache rack......looking for ideas for the rear window cover......wanting to do something different than expanded metal. Ordered some Bilsteins for the front and rear, should have them this week. Finally got the brakes dialed in, thanks to some help from a local shop in town. The Green Bean goes down the road pretty nice, dosent wander or track crooked. Wheel base is right at 132"......Next is to get the front driveline in, get the windshield wipers working, replace heater blower motor and order some heater duct hoses. Any thoughts or advice on deleting the dash pad?? Anyone? Also wanting to get a 88-94 bench seat.....this stock seat is like riding an old bed spring!! |
