Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
After I got the floor cleaned up. And tools wipped off. I through on the brake booster and master cylinder to see how I am going f to run the lines. Damn it sticks out a long ways. Atleast from before. Lol.
Oh and I hung the new front brake lines for the GM 10bolt.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
Got the Rancho add a leaf installed it really stiffened up the leaf pack. See the picture of the stock spring and the spring with the add a leaf and the bottom spring removed.
This is the first add a leaf with the leaf brackets. Do I fold them down?

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
7/16 is the correct diameter for the rivet then? was wondering if so.
I haven't removed any of them yet, I have some slightly wandering steering even after a front end rebuild and a rebuilt steering box from a local parts store about 6 years ago, I asked a front end guy about it and he had me rock the steering wheel while he looked, he said told i had slightly loose rivets on my front spring mount, I haven't seen the movement myself yet, replacing the rivets is on my list if things i need to do eventually.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
I hope I don't have that problem. It's tough when you have replaced the old parts with new and still have problems. I am converting to the newer style steering components.
Heck I have down it to both trucks. This one will be the test as it will be up and running first.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
I bet I spent 12 hours on the truck today. I got the front of the frame and firewall completely painted. I bent up all the brake lines and installed the brake booster. Installed the power steering gear box, steering column and mid shaft. Got the bezels cleaned up and switched over I didn't get it installed yet as I wired up the new brake switch, drilled a new hole in the pedal. Wired up the neutral safety switch, brake light switch, reverse lights and tc lock up is ready to go. I also replaced the heater control that was black with a good silver one I got front the parts truck before I sold it. The black one had been rebuilt with the cheap levers very flimsy. The silver one is all original. I also took the cables and readjusted them and lubed them up. They work good I just hope the fan switch works.
I feel like I spent all this time and didn't get a lot done. This stuff is tedious. But after typing it looks like a lot got accomplished today. I will post a few picture later.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
Looking good great progress Scott! What does the boy say about the steering wheel seeing as he gets to look at it?
IMO, I'm old school fart and prefer the 3 spoke Chevelle wheel (slated for both my current project trucks) but have ran the Vega, Camaro, Chevelle 4 spoke wheel more often over the years. My old C30 daily is sporting the similar but later truck 4 spoke since I had it already and couldn't stand the boy racer wheel it came with which a buddy was glad to take off my hands for free!

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
Well he likes the 14" aluminum 3 spoke. This is what his brother has in his 70 c10.
That is why I asked the question. I wanted to know what others think that have been keeping track of my build thread.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
This is my sons senior pictures. This is the first truck we rebuilt everything but paint and body work.
I like the picture because it has all the stuff he's into. Hotrods/trucks Motorcycles Guns(California State Champion trap shooter) Fishing(bass) Just all around outdoorsman. He will be attending University of Montana Western in the fall. Proud dad moment.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
Thanks sky. I actually can't wait to retire as I am out of this state. We have family outside Missoula. Stephenville actually. Great state love the blue sky!!!!
I did have to add a vent line back to the fuel tank for the fitech injection command center. Probably could have save a few $$$ by custom configuring a I tank fuel pump. But decided I don't really have time. I am going to run the vent and fuel line 100 steel no hose(well maybe right at the command center connections.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
I got the vent line soldered up in the sendeing unit on the fuel tank. I ran it into the same grommet in the floor. I did wrap it in a peice of rubber so not to touch the tank but took the picture before.

Re: Project "Hulk Jr"
Got the axle under the frame. The 90 axle under a 68 frame fit great. Just need to get it painted. I was not going to but now it looks old under there.
