Re: Scrap Truck to Race Truck
No rain this weekend so the truck was out racing again. They were able to race last Saturday as well. Rained out on Sunday. So far the truck has raced 6 times and won 5 of them. The one time it didn't win they blew a rad hose and had to pit.
I am attaching a link to a video of last night's race. I hope it works. https://www.facebook.com/bacon.stodd...3521635054746/ PS the other truck is out and racing for the first time last night. The number 18 truck is the track champion so far, it is the black with red truck. The number 3 truck which is dark green and yellow is the other truck. It is the truck that they resurrected from an old retired race truck from 20 years ago. Number 3 was track champion before it wreck and the original owner retired it. It was stripped down and left to rot in a field ever since the wreck. |

Sure brag it up, kidding, just jealous, looks like a "lot" of fun.

Re: Scrap Truck to Race Truck
Thanks guys. I can't take much credit for the builds or the wins. I just sponsor the trucks for one of my customers, who is also my friend.
The #18 truck blew a rad hose a few weekends back when the owners son was racing it and cooked the engine. He found a race ready 350 from another buddy for a cool C note. The next day the other motor was in and they were back in business. The # 3 truck's motor was a extremely tired street engine and suffered from low oil pressure. Three weeks ago it tossed a rod cap through the oil pan so that motor was done. The block was fine so another friend donated a fully balanced set pistons, rods and crank. They swapped out the cam too. He also through in a carb from a 70's heavy truck. The number 3 truck is now very fast but the son who is driving it doesn't have enough track experience so he can't catch his dad. He is getting better and giving dad a run for his money now. #18 took 1st place again in both races yesterday and #3 took 2nd in both races. Next weekend is a long weekend here so they will be racing Saturday and Sunday. I expect and hope for four 1st places and four 2nd places. |

Re: Scrap Truck to Race Truck
That's cool to see a father and son race. As long as there is no bad blood between them. Lol

Re: Scrap Truck to Race Truck
The last race of the season was last weekend. The #18 truck driven by dad is track champion for the season. I am going to try and include the link to the you tube video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkN-AngsXB4&t=7shttp://
