$$$$$$ ! Yes, unless "P03 Chromed Hubcaps" is listed on the SPID.

And I thought that a distinguishing feature of the CST was the cargo light. Was that not true in '69?

I didn’t want to say because I’m not positive, but don’t believe the chromed caps came with the CST package by default in 69. So I tend to agree this would have had white painted caps unless chromed is listed on the SPID.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

Your '69 belongs in our time capsule thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...capsule+thread Chevy really didn't standardize on a wheel color for pickups until 1970, there were several rules in place up until 1969. Early '69 wheels were painted argent silver, carryover colors from '68. There was a transition to white painted wheels sometime after the introduction, not sure on the date or when all assembly plants standardized on white wheels. 4WD's wheels were black in early '69, same as in '68, probably went to white about the same time 2WD argent silver wheels went to white. IMO, in '69, either argent silver or white wheel color is acceptable, personal preference on what flows better with exterior body color. Here is an early '69 Custom Camper with argent silver 16.5 rims photo taken when brand new.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor

Build date is unrelated to hubcaps - i.e. there's no such thing as early or late hubcaps in 69. Hubcap style was the same throughout 69-72 (in white or chrome). factorystock was referring to steel wheel color silver (earlier) vs white (later).

Correct jocko, wheel color was my point. The '69 model year was a confusing one.

Once I have the VIN number I guess I will know more about what colors the wheels should be. So white painted hubcaps with blue bowtie is a go right?

So on these stainless steel side view mirrors with chrome base. Part of the CST package or a stand alone option? I assume the s/s rain gutters were an add on accessory? Very popular back in the day.

Those mirrors look like 71/72 only mirrors

I believe your '69 most likely came originally with chrome caps. Chrome caps were the same '69-'72. Painted caps went thru a color transition just like the wheels. Painted caps were initially silver for '69. Later in the model year the transition to white hubcaps took place. Again, like a stated earlier, '69 was a confusing year. First photo shows a '69 with argent silver wheels and chrome caps. Second photo shows a '69 with argent silver wheels and argent silver caps. I would hold off on white hubcaps till we see your spid ( decal inside glove box door)

Jocko, this is one of those rare period photos that shows the wheel color transition on a dealerships lot, the white wheel '69 must be a new arrival. Still has argent silver painted hubcap. The white painted hubcaps, too match the white painted wheels, came soon after this. This is another example of how '69 was so confusing.

Here is what the CST package included in 1969.

The SPID lists all the other “optional” items.

Thanks 68! Ok, On the special insulation. I noticed a 3/8' or so white foam insulation under the carpet from front to back

As I stated before, this truck was in a collection of early trucks in Illinois. And it was ordered new in Beecher Ill by a Mr. W. Huenerberg according to the campaign or recall mailer concerning replacing the fast idle cam on the 4 barrel Rochester.

Jocko rehashes a good point about if the original mirror screw holes are visible on the door. Also what is the white plastic piece on the side of the carb? Those hood hinges and release latch on the radiator support are some of the cleanest I've seen other than on Pete's restored K20.
