Yea... I don't like unrestrained heights or gravity landings.

I wear a harness when I get past the first row of plywood. I have it set up so I can't fall farther than the scaffold. It's steeper than it looks. Slightly over 45*. I decided it's steep enough I'm only going to finish the plywood and underlayment. I'll hire a roofer to finish the drip edge and shingles. If the weather keeps holding out I might have a roof by the end of March, early April.

Another dry weekend, but it was crazy windy on Friday, like I'm not even going up on the scaffolding windy, so I took my brand new BFG's and my old wheels (2011 Z71 wheels I saved from my last truck) to a tire shop and got everything mounted up. 2nd pic is a comparison of the factory wheel and the "new" ones. I don't hate the factory wheels, but I never liked them either.

I LOVE these wheels. They just look like a cool truck wheel.

I'm sure my fuel mileage will go to crap but they ride pretty nice.

And today. All plywood is on (one side at least). WOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I tried to get all the underlayment down, but only made it about 2/3 across before I had to close it up for the week.

I have to finish the bracing for the front eave and finish the underlayment, but man, one side is pretty much done, at least as far as I'm going to take it.

Took it a little easier the past couple weekends.

I got the underlayment finished up and eave done. I also decided it was a good time to close up the front. I was hoping to get the other eave built, but decided to call it quits early this weekend and clean up some.

Bracing down the finished side. There's a 2' overlap. This thing doesn't budge.

Hopefully my last large $ load of lumber.

I also wasn't super happy with the previous load of plywood I bought. Not terrible, but a lot of the sheets had a bit of a curve to them, NOT fun sliding up a roof and hoping it doesn't pop off on you before you can get it nailed down. So, I went through my old pile and relocated it to the back of the garage, and my new pile, and put the "worst" sheets up on the 2nd floor to go down as the finished floor. I was hoping the sheeting I put down would be fine for a storage floor, but damn if it moves A LOT. I'll overlap and lay the structural plywood overtop of it and it should be mint after.

And finally, let there be light. With both ends closed in, its obviously DARK up there. I had to bring up a light!

Not sure how this whole Corona Virus thing is going to pan out. Two of my sisters are in health care and work in hospitals that have had cases. My wife works in a vet clinic, and while not a human hospital, animals can carry it on their fur and I worry about her getting it.

My office is a small engineering firm with 16 people, we don't need to go anywhere or enact with others for a while. All meetings have pretty much been cancelled.

Going to be interesting how this all pans out.

Looking good on shop Jesse. Luckily I don't have to interact much with folks anymore if I don't want to. Only stupid thing about it so far is the infatuation folks have with TP.

Looks great! That is a mountain of work. Every time I start to think about building my own shop I look at your thread, get tired and have to take a nap. I used to be able to do that but too many years have gone by. That will be a great shop when you're done.

What's frustrating for us is we usually don't keep a large stock of it. Not to get too personal, but I'm at work/away from home 11 hours per day (9 hrs/day, 1 hr required lunch, 30 min drive each way), I don't use the home office very often So needless to say, we're pretty much out. My inlaws buy in bulk at costco and are going to drop off some rolls until everyone is back in stock.

I wish I could take a nap and have someone finish it up for me! My last big hurdle is getting the other half of the roof done. Then I get to phone in the shingles, electric, and doors. That still leaves the two man doors, siding, soffits, insulation and interior finishes. Ugh, and the landscaping... that will be a minimum of a month of weekends.

Thinking of going with metal siding on the ceiling to speed up installation. It will cost a lot more, but I won't have to install sheetrock, mud it all twice (ceiling is 1500 sf), sand it all twice, and it won't need a coat of primer and 2 coats of paint. Also, with as big a span as I'm running, my ceiling is structurally safe, but with the open span, my sheetrock is a lot more likely to crack and look like crap.

It's going to look a lot different by the end of May.

Damn, it's been a while since an update.

I started working from home about 5 weeks ago and I hate it. Our clients have been more demanding and more a-holish than ever before. I honestly thought I was going to get laid off after a few weeks at first, but we keep getting jobs trickling in. I've been so busy at times I've had to work some weekend days to catch up. It really doesn't make sense to me some weeks. We're supposed to go back to the office in two weeks. But that date has been moved 3 times already.

It's also rained a bunch and I did lose a little motivation.

We also lost my 16 and a half year old pup, Oreo a couple weeks ago. that was difficult. I got her my senior year at Clemson. I hung her old collar above the new shop door. My other pup just turned 15 and she's probably only got "months" left as well.

Enough with the sad crap, I have gotten some work done over the last month. I got both eaves built.

Building the scaffolding on that stupid hill took an entire exhausting day.

I laid out a string line and cut all of the trusses even, and got the bottom eave done.

Finally, on Sunday, I got the first row of sheeting up. We should have clear weather this weekend and early next week. I don't think I can get it all done this weekend, but I'll try. I'm considering asking for Monday off to get it done and get the underlayment down because it looks like we're getting into a rain every day pattern next week.

Thanks everyone. Yes, she did get to live a long time for a dog. Growing up we had "outdoor" dogs that would only be around for a few years at a time. Oreo was my first, with me all the time, indoor pet. She was deaf, going blind, and couldn't hold her potty for more than 6-8 hours anymore. It was actually a blessing I got to be home with her for 4 weeks. For the month before that I was having to drive home for lunch everyday to let her our 3 days a week (50 minute round trip). What made our final decision was she was having a hard time getting up (for weeks) and walking anymore. I was picking her up right after she would wake up and carry her outside so she didn't have to struggle. My wife is a veterinarian, so it was especially hard on her. To be honest, Oreo probably would have only made it to 12 without her.

That's what she appeared to be, but based on her blood test we had done, she was like 10 different breeds. She was definitely a cutie.

Mom's mustang still sits in pieces due to a flood at my brothers old shop. He's got a new place now, just haven't had time (2 kiddo, life, etc) to get going again. But still on the radar to get done.

Glad your 'stang is rolling and looking good and the shop is such a great addition...and looky there you even got the TOTM award...congrats buddy!!
