Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

What year is the LS you used ? Do you have Factory AC ? If so, did you have to relocate the AC compressor high passenger side ? Can't tell from the pics.. Also is your alternator down low drivers side ?

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

Curious to know who's using stock plastic engine covers vs. keeping the intake exposed. I'm trying to decide if I paint up my intake or keep and paint the cover. I have the Gen IV truck intake meaning it works well but doesn't look very good.
Thoughts?

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

Here are a few examples of a smoothed out stock truck intake.

The last pic is a intake I did for a customer (Blakes 67 GMC build) in that build I show step by step on how I did it.

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

Hey guys, I need some help.. this is my first swap and I have no idea what I’m getting into. I have a 6.0/4l80 from a Denali, I replaced the intake from a TBSS. I’ve ordered a adapter plate to use the throttle body from the 6.0 intake. What does these connect to?

Re: LS swappers, post up your pics!!

1972 Chevy original short fleet. Started life as 6 and 3spd.
Built up in 1995 with swapped in V8 and automatic but needed some new blood injected into it.

So I stuffed a 2015 LS3 and TR6060 into it which snowballed into a pile of other stuff.
Z06 14" brakes, 4" and 6" drop on Hotchkis suspension blah blah

Need to get a tune on it, finish up AC and some other details but pretty much ready to hit the street.

I love this! You have a build thread? I have an ls3/tr6060 combo too still gathering parts. Did you use the No Limit clutch master setup? Any pics of the transmission setup? Crossmember, trans mount, driveshaft situation?

On my 68 C10 I used the Captian Fab clutch kit. Worked like champ.

No build thread but I'll tell you what I did.
Im really not a kit guy. Just used Wilwood clutch master. 3/4" bore if I recall. Works perfect. Lining up rod to master was hardest part and that was pretty easy.
Drivetrain only has 20k on it but still swapped in new clutch. Just LuK replacement.
Trans crossmember is a IFS. https://www.amazon.com/Ingenuity-Fab.../dp/B074L8YYY6
Good in fact that you can center the trans plus I couldn't make it for price they charge. Little rough out of the box but very slick piece. Has dual exhaust humps too.
The actual trans mount I made and it takes a TH350/400 rubber or poly mount. Factory '15 Camaro piece was too high for the floor pan.
Driveshaft is modded rear a 2002-03 Excursion 4x4 with slip joint.
Couldn't see spending $1k for a driveshaft.

Irish1941

would you be so kind as to tell how the front brake system on your beautiful truck came to be?

Thanks, Chip

87 spindles with hubs and caliper mounts from Kore3.
Tobin from kore3 is a great guy and super helpful. If you want big brakes that work, you can't go wrong.
