Prior to this truck I had purchased a new '07 Dodge Ram 3500 SRW with the 5.9L Cummins & 6-speed manual. I started out like most people with just a tuner, intake & exhaust. The feel & need for speed however got the better of me - ended up upping my tuner to a Smarty, swapping out to a larger turbo, replacing the intake horn, modifying the fuel pump, installing an ATS manifold, etc.

Needless to say, all that power was kind of getting to me out on the road & I was trying to race everyone I came across... The last time I did it really scared my wife & I just realized that I didn't need to have all that on tap so I got rid of it. When I started planning this build I wanted to go with a 4BT Cummins, but every time I started planning the build of it, I kept getting carried away & knew I would fall down the same road...

That's the story anyhow.

Yeah, and look at it now. A super charger is down the same road. Either way, I like it! Keep up the great work. When do ou get state side again any way?

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. Said he was not doing a Cummins because he got carried away last time and now he's throwing a supercharger and methanol injection at his 6L.

I think no matter what the engine, a gearhead is a gearhead and you'll always keep throwin' stuff at it as long as you have the money. It's more about just controlling the urge to use the power you have under the hood than controlling the urge to put some there.

Still loving the truck though, can't wait to see the finished product. I think everything is really going to "click".

Ok, the "new" center console finally arrived at the shop & they got it mocked up in there. I think it just looks "right"!!!

You can see the seat surface now - those are the basic colors, but have decided to have them re-done in black leather & charcoal micro-suede rather than the vinyl I bought them in. The arm rest of the console will get recovered to match as well & all will get red double stitching.

On the supercharger/methanol combo - as much as I hated to do so, I backed outta that deal.... Once we balanced out where I actually was with it financially rather than where I thought I was given the lack of notification, it just would have made to big a dent & caused other things to slow down a bit & I am all too ready to get this project over & done with already!

I am going to have them go ahead with the Holley intake I showed & mentioned earlier - not for a performance gain or anything, just a specific look I want under the hood. Once it comes in we can decide if the Mast valve covers & it will need to be powder coated or if they match enough to run them in the "as-purchased" finish.

You can also see that Keven got the new ididit steering column in & he's working on the wiring - has to set-up a clutch cancelation switch for the keyless start button. They got the doors off that Suburban mounted in there to & are working on the power windows.

Progress is started up again thankfully, so hopefully no more breaks like this one...

That sucks about the supercharger and stuff, but it will still look awesome. The center seat looks great, i think it looks way better than the other console, the other one just looked a little cheap in my opinion. Glad to hear you got the suburban doors to, it'll make it a lot easier since there electric and they have the right mirrors on them already.

Yeah, kinda feel the same way, but guess crap happens & just gotta make the best of it... The other console fit the original theme of the build, but once things started headed in the direction that they have been, it just no longer did the trick. This one looks great & adds much more class I think!

Keven will need to fabricate some sort of switch panel though for the 4 rocker switches & the power window controls. Not exactly sure as of yet where we'll be putting that at... Also, since the supercharger is no more - we're going to install an air pressure gauge in the dash where we were looking at putting the boost gauge - will look almost identical.

Why aren't you putting the window switches in the doors? Theres already holes there from the cranks. Unless your going to hide the holes somehow I would do that.

Don't like the "clutter" of the switches on the panels really & want a central switch panel for everything. The doors will be totally recovered so the holes won't be an issue.

i probablly going to build a similar truck soon as i can sell my 04. just get tired of my new truck i like driving it not huge on the looks of it. and i hate the shortbed. my plans are dmax in old crew instead of ls though.

Console is final mounted now, so hoping to get pics of it on here tomorrow with any luck! We've decided to go with a set of billet power window switches from Watson's Street Works that I think will look really good with the overall look.

We're trying to figure out now where to mount my 4 switch panel at... I am trying to see if he can do it in the factory ash tray location so when it's folded up they aren't visible, but we'll see. Going to use the same style buttons as the push start on the ididit column too!

Intake is ordered & on the way so hopefully next week it can start getting installed & we can get the intake plumbing locked in so I can get the air box cover made finally...

Some bad news today... The shop heard back today that the intake is back ordered - so it'll be 2-4 weeks before they get it in now! Gonna slow down that end of it which sucks - we'll most likely have to send it & the valve covers out for powder coat as well unless they match really well as-is.

Also, Keven was working on wiring the ididit wiper module & he's not happy (nor am I) with the function of it... It's basically a momentary push button on the end of the stalk that you set up to either turn the wipers on high or low - kinda crappy!!!

We're gonna delete that & just get the plain tilt stalk for it. Found an aftermarket switch from Hella that looks like will fit in the factory location so Keven's gonna research that & get back to me. We'd just have to update the knob to billet to match the light switch & column stalk.

Gotta continue to have patience, but so much want this darn thing to able to start up already...

Some new pics, but not a lot in the way of things to update...

You can see that the new wiper motor is in, but we're still waiting for the intermittent switch assembly to make it in.

Hydra-boost is almost finished being plumbed in. The new Wilwood master cylinder is in, but we're sending the cap out for anodizing while the other fill caps are being made.

Also you can see the clutch master cylinder & reservoir on the firewall now.

The Mast valve covers & coil relocation kits aren't on yet as we're waiting for the new Holley intake to arrive so it can all be done at once.

You can also see that they've been doing more wiring & organization in the engine compartment too.

And BTW - NO that isn't the actual shifter arm - just a quickie they stuck on to be able to engage it as needed.

What headers are you using are they custom or a manufacturers set, and are you using the Holley ram air intake they're new one I think

The headers are custom one's from Street & Performance. Really nice quality & fit. They didn't work with the factory clutch fork style set-up, so that's why we choose to go with a hydraulic throw-out bearing assembly.

Yeah, we're using the new Hi-Ram aluminum intake from Holley - will most likely cost me a little torque on the low end, but willing to sacrifice it to get the overall look I am after - besides, with the manual transmission I make up for that with a little more RPM as needed.

One nice thing is that the new intake includes new billet fuel rails which look really nice as well!!!

Hopefully the back order won't take the full 4 weeks of the "2-4 weeks", but we'll have to see...

Looking great, sucks about the supercharger but shouldn't be too hard to add later if you decide your really can't do without it, so no big deal.

I can feel your anxiety to get the truck done, but you've been doing great so far, don't rush it just enjoy the process.

What are you using for a brake distibution block and or bias adjuster? I will be upgrading to Hydroboost as welll with 4 wheel disc brakes. I wanted to ditch the factory distibution block for Wilwood part number 260-11179 (Wilwood Adjustable Proportioning Block) I just couldn't get an answer if the PSI generated from the Hydroboost would be too great for the Wilwood piece...

Sen your question to the shop & that's the exact part number that they generally use on similar set-ups & have never had any issues with them. Keven stated that he may go with P/N 260-10922 simply because it lacks the brake light switch since we already have one on the new pedal assembly.
