Al's 71C10 Rebuild

Juan this was out of left field bob contacted me about the wheels we agreed on a price an he picked them up this morning. Now I am looking for wheels as I have no choice either 20/20 or 20/22
Suggestions guys??????

Wow Al I didn't see that one coming this soon they look great on that blazer though. I say go 20/22, if you don't you will probably regret it. I nice set of billet specialties or Intros would be sweet. I had the centerline archer II's on my old red 72 that's on the first page of my build thread. They were really nice wheels, mine were 20x8.5 all around.

these are the ones I wanted... budget would not allow. Intro Vintage in the 22x8.5... $3,300. They are soooo clean in reall life. Maybe I can live a little through your build.

All of the wheels posted by jmedero and lolife99 look really good. Can't go wrong with any of them. I had to go with Coys because of my budget. I really wanted a set of billet specialties or intros, oh well next set of wheels will be a nice big set of billets.

i think weather coys,billet,ar,intros or the cheap boss or any value on the wheel it's whatever makes and fits the theme of the build , i have intros in my car but yet because of the route im going with my truck i went with coys , in alberts case a billet wheel fits the best , just saying

Intro Vistas would look good. One of the wheels I considered just didn't want the 6 spoke design since I kept the 6-lug setup.

WOW... shopping for new wheels???? I don't think anybody seen that one coming... even Al! This bag project is heading straight to another level! Nice that you have a chunk of change from the sale of the old wheels as a nice down payment on new wheels of your choice... sounds awfully dangerous!!!!

Bennett neither did I ....both Bbb and I are hapy with the outcome. I am going to go with 20/20 more than likely. I really like the intros and the billet specialties so many great choices.

I like those wheels but I am looking for something really open like the stiletos, highboy or intro pentia...

Raul and I spent a good part of four or five hours working on my bucket we finished the rear brake install, rear bags, air lines, front shocks, removed my front sway bar and rear early classics pan hard bar with brackets. We also removed the two inch blocks i just installed a week and half ago as we think that they are not needed for the truck (someone correct us if we are wrong)The front sway bar cant be mounted on the tubular arms it is about two inches too short to where the new mounting hole is on the the lower control arm also the rear pan hard bar the right side bracket hits the differential and wont let the rear tuck all the way up so I cant use it either. I am calling Nathan tomorrow from porterbuilt so I can order a new front sway bar (hoping that it will bolt up to these lower control arms and I am ordering a new rear panhard bar from him also as I am pretty sure that it will do the trick). we ran into a snag on the rear brake hoses and lines the fittings are two different sizes so i took a drive to autozone and found us the adapters to make them all work together so we will finish this part tomorrow night. Here are some picts of todays progress as I know we all like pictures.



Guys also just to make quadruple sure with backspace on a 71c10 with a stock 71 rear differential.
front wheels 20x8.5 with a 5.25 bs
rear wheels 20x10 with a 5.5 bs

Correct?

Al,... here's my thought.
I like the 2" lowering blocks.
They allow the rear axle tube to tuck all the way up in the notch,... AND limit the ride height with the bags air'd up.
(nothing looks worse to me, on a bagged truck,... to have it look like a 4x4 going down the road)
You don't need them to lay out but they will allow the ECE Super track bar to work with the notch,... plus allow a lower "ride height".

The front sway bar doesn't need those frame stands.
I would try locating the end links to the a-arms,... and then bolting the sway bar directly to the frame. (no gold frame stands)

Also,... I would run a 5.5"-5.75" BS on those front 20x8.5's on a bagged truck.

Al,... in this picture,... you need to put the ECE bracket under the 2" block.
That will solve your problem.

Keith Thanks for the advice.... So I understand when I order my front wheels ask for a 5.5 bs for the front? or even 5.75 and there would not be any clearance issues?
