Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
after i finish the tubs i am going to re-shot the entire truk with poly fill then hopefully paint. For any one in this step of their builds i recommend sing U-POL URETHANE High Build DTM PRIMER. its good product and really fair priced at $65 it can be used as a DTM or high build. The valspar DTM i used was like 3 times more

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
i got further along, i finished glassing the top and bottom of the pocket and finished the the low spots with short strand. The glass is what is holding the actual pocket i will finish sand it and complete the process with regular body filler. It is structurally sound i could pick up the tub by the pocket, like if it was made this way. I still need to graft the back section of the tub.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I got further along in the process the glass work is complete but i have to finish it with body filler then spray some high build as they had extensive work. Once i complete the tubz %100 i will do the write up.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
I don't have any pics of the tub installed but I left a small gap of 1/8"+or- to avoid direct contact and rubbing off the clear and eventually the paint. I will use 3M one sided stick on tape to act as a gasket and sealer, once compressed you won't see the gap anyhow.

Re: LS1 into a 73 cheyenne
You have done an amazing job modifying these tubz to work around your 73-80 hood hinges.
I have one question. Aren't your wheels going to have to be WAY inside the fenders for them to clear the "pocket" you added? Looks like they will have to to be 3"-4" inside the fender.
