Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Just registered and this is my 1st post. I've been scoping this burb thread for years. I just pulled my 71 burb into my shop today after parking it 11 years ago. This was my 1st car and I put it together in high school auto shop in 95. Last summer I started getting parts together to bring it back since it is my favorite out of all of my rides. It now has a 5.7 Vortec, 4l60e, 4:56 posi 12 bolt. It is on air bags.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Thank you! The picture of my suburban is taken at a "good angle"... there is allot of rust and body work that needs to be done but, its a start.

Very nice job on combining old with new... best of both worlds. Nice work, and nice burb(s)!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
This is my latest and newest Burb. I've owned a '57, '60, '62, and '64 previously. The '69 here I just picked up Mar. 1st, so it's still new to me!
It's got a fresh 350 with a TH400, all later running gear from a '72 Burb includes a 5 bolt conversion, with power disc brakes and HD front and rear swaybars, air shocks in the rear, power steering, and fairly recent paint. A few little things to work out like the usual broken heater controls, and it needed a new radio, so installed a complete stereo system with speakers. Still needs tires soon, and not sure if I'll put them on these wheels, or get some new wheels too. |

Good looking 4x4 burb!
Did I read "project"? What are your plans for that baby? If you have a restoration project planned, then please set up a build thread with lots of pictures! We love pictures here, so please don't be shy.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
I am planning on a restoring it but before I go to far I am trying to figure out if I should invest the time and effort in fixing the current body or if I should locate a donor that is in better shape. As far as time & money I am thinking the ladder maybe the best way to go... Maybe some input from you guys that have more experience would help me make that decision? Here are some more pic's. The good, the bad, & the ugly!

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Still lookin like a solid build from where I stand.
Looks like a bit of side swipe damage, but now a days there are a lot more patch panels available to burbs than when I started my build. Now you can get new rockers, and new rear tail light sections. The side panels are nothing for a skilled fab person, since it's all flat with easy bends.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Thank you, I think it is to. This weekend I am going to get the seats out of it and get a good look at the floors and then form my plan of attack on getting the body lift out of it. And don't worry I love taking pictures, so as long as I keep the irons in the fire to a minimum I should make some good progress & be able start a thread on it.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Hey Waryr, there is a board member in California " Budnick" I think that has a good body for around $850-900 if its any help. Use it for patches or swap it out

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Burbans!
Thanks Olblue, I'll check it out. Its funny Wildstreak, I wasn't to sure about the orange when I first bought it but its surprising how fast it grows on you. I really would like to keep it that way now.

Nice. Love the rims and hubcaps. I was looking for a set of those for mine for winter.
