Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
I have to agree with Jocko on this one , the Z81 option is not in the K20 section of the Data book for 66. It lists C body styles only in the custom camper section also. Anyone notice the 1960-1962 front inner fenders on this truck ? Not sure why they would "COPO" this option when all the options are available to a K20 individually if they apply .

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
The only thing missing is the front stabilizer bar. But much like we've seen in the past, someone wants one and has the pull, you could get it. However as I always feel, unless you have documentation, your word is really not worth much.
Thanks 60-66 for posting the info.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
That's why the spid on this was asked of him so many times in the last few days Ill bet , I asked lol. Being a COPO it would have had a 4 digit number starting with 9*** on the spid. I highly doubt it though, but ? The fact that the inner fenders were changed along with so many other things on this truck , the badges on the fenders could have been installed at any time in this trucks past. Great looking truck though. The bed wood in the truck, almost looks original, just repainted. May have had a camper on it.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
Looked in the "Special Equipment " or COPO order number section. It states " C2503 , 04 , and 34 only" These are all C models. Disregard the C60 Air Conditioning statement , in another section it also states without C60 just different order numbers.

Blue tk is very nice but--they sure used a lot of armor all on it. no bolts in the rad hold down and they left the shifter knob un-restored.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
Yeah, there's a lot of little things wrong or missing. No support bracket for the heater core tubes, no windshield washer reservoir, the voltage regulator is mounted to the inner fender instead of the radiator support, the horn is not mounted correctly, plus the wrong inner fenders as 60-66 mentioned.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
There's a difference between '60-'62 and '63-'66 inner fenders??
What are the differences? (if there's another thread with the differences, please direct me to it.). -Brad

The bracket that the hinge spring attaches to is different.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
Interesting! I've never noticed... well, I've never actually paid attention to it!
Are you guys positive it's a difference by years, and not a difference by manufacturer or stamping plant facility? For instance, I know that on '57 Chevys, the "California 1pc frame" was also on Atlanta-built cars, and the 2-pc frames were also built in Atlanta. Depended on what their outside supplier sent them. -Brad

The 62 inner fender has a different part number in the parts book.

Re: 60-66 Chevy And GMC 4X4's Gone Wild
For 1962, inner fenders were in the midst of a redesign. I have seen both designs used in original 1962 trucks. Its safe to say 1960 and 1961 were positively the early smaller bracket and that design was used into 1962, but not on all of them. Had nothing to do with manufacturer .Heres a 1962 1700 mileoriginal truck with the later inner fenders

I am using a 61 rad support in my crew cab, and these are all things that I have to address to get it to work with 66 components. 60-61 the rad bolted to the side of the support, which is why there are no bolts in the 66 part of the support, also the 60-61 had a generator system, and a different size voltage regulator which mounts different, which is probably why it is on the inner fender. on my 61 the washer reservoir is on the firewall, all my later trucks have it on the front left by the horn.
