Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

Here is mine. 1985 C20, new wheels and tires. It still needs a little TLC in
the engine department but runs well for a 25 year old truck.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

I was googling and found this thread, then remembered I am a member.
Here is my truck. I know nothing matches, but whoever did it did it GOOD.
VIN says 1974

I dont know, but Im sure it took alot of screw hole filling. At least they didnt upgrade the grille. That would have been a dealbraker. I traded a 00 P71 Crown Vic for it as it sits, but with both sets of wheels/tires included. Today I installed CD and CB. And a seat cover.

I had a guy on hotrodders.com tell me this. Dont know how accurate it is:
bastardized 74 if I ever saw one
78/79 CHEVROLET grille
79-87 pick-up box
76-78 headlight doors and grille trim
80-87 mirrors
79-80 hood
81-87 dash pad---door panels
81+ seat covering

only thing I see that is 1974 on that truck is the intsrument panel bezel and gages.

(cant get a good look at the vent windows---they changed in 81)

not putting the truck down----somebody has obviously made an effort to keep the truck presentable, and it is a nice looking truck.

BTW---no power windows in 74

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?

i agree with the later year bed. my truck has a 86 bed on it. that's why when my mom surprised me with a paint job while i was in tech school they put on the trim on the front. the headlight trim could have been painted like mine are. unless they are plastic. then they would be LMC or repos. the hood the repop has the indention like the 79-80 does. for some reason they choose that year to make the hood.

im thinking the mirrors came on the doors. probably replacement doors from a donor like the bed as well.

either way it's a clean truck and it get's my nod.

Check out the extra ridge on the front-most edge of the hood, 79-80 thing.

LS1_C10, beautiful truck man, someone did a great job on it. Ain't no body like a square body.

Yes. It is white with a carolina blue stripe in the center. It is the first two tone I have ever seen where the white wasn't the center stripe.
