That's the only way they could still "screw up your order". Ha.

Huh? I think I missed something.

Probably due to the heat -- left work early to check out all four rims again and make sure they're the right bolt pattern (they are) and make sure I didn't miss any other flaws (don't think I did). 90 degrees out and working in direct sunlight is no fun! Installed the valve stems and now have the wheels and the BFGs loaded up; just gonna call the tire shop and see if they can still get them done today.

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Just got back from my second trip to the tire shop. Dropped the rims and tires off to be mounted/balanced. No sooner had I gotten home than they called me to come back. On one of the 20x10s there's a significant spot of missing chrome on the back that I had overlooked. It never ends....

On the plus side, since I last posted above I received another email from Boss, this time apologizing for the fiasco. Still trying to decide how to handle what's been posted here (remove it because they apologized? leave it as a warning to others?) but it gave me a good opportunity to reply in a calmer tone about the problem with the 20x10 and look for a solution there. Sigh.

All orders have shipped except a few people are waiting on rear 20" wheels, and there are two that are waiting on 20" chrome still.

About 100 sets of wheels have already shipped.

All in All seems like just this one major issue.....Someone needs to start a new thread posting their vehicles with their new boss wheels...

Sublver72,... would you ever do another group buy again?
(general question,... not interested)

What would you say was the downfall to this Boss 338 Group buy?
Trying to sell a wheel that wasn't ready?
Or incorrect info from Boss/AEW?

I guess what I'm asking,... if a person wanted to order a set of wheels today from their local tire guy,... would they have to wait forever and be lied to by AEW?
Or has production finally caught up?

This is aside from the real problem that the front wheels are still not a direct bolt on.
(with the exception of using the 1" wide rotors)

Just curious about your thoughts on this whole thread since you started out doing everyone a favor,... and ended up caught in the middle.

D'oh! Okay, now I get it.

On a different note, I think things have been smoothed over with AEWC, finally. They just emailed me back some info that may be of interest to you guys still waiting on chrome. While apparently Marcus has never had access to any actual production dates or other info, the info I just got straight from the top is this with regard to the chrome 20s: "The allocation date on the parts coming through is 09/10/2010." I won't be able to get a new 20x10 until then, but it sounds like they're going to take care of me. I've heard it before, but this is from a different channel.

In the meantime, I'll have three of the rims ready to mount tomorrow ... if only I could get at my truck to put them on. Alas, it's still buried from when I put it away last winter.

I hope you show me as one of those who have not received their chrome 20x18.5 fronts? I will call on Monday.

Can you share the contact information for the person you spoke to at AEWC, so that others my reach out to them for an update on their orders. I know I would like get some more reliable information on a time of arrival. Thanks

Liz, I don't want to get in the middle of anything, but I'd encourage you to not suspend his account as it is the only way some people may have of trying to get in touch with Colin. If you do go this route, I can post alternate contact info but I'd rather not have to be the one to do that.
