Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
The engine sounds good and is quite responsive! Great job
Is it a flat tappet cam or a roller?

I've always liked them too but it's a temporary thing for him. He'll be saving for a double pumper, and fuel

Thanks guys! He's pretty happy with the results so far.

You gettin' anything done up there Johnny? The people demand updates! What's up on the truck? What's Knuckles been up to? Are you dodging all the riots, fires, mudslides, armed militants, etc? Git on the stick, son!

Stepper is good, just waiting for summer. It has taken a back seat the last few years to my sons racing. Feel kinda bad for it..

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Thanks for the bump fellas! I haven't given up. Life has had me distracted but I see the truck every single day and I'm still in love.
I sent those 52 year old heads in for the full-meal-deal and they're basically done. Have been for over a month or two. 7/16" screw in studs with guide plates, 2.02x1.60 swirl polished stainless valves (8mm LSX style), hard seats, full port and polish, unshrouded for the big valves. Trying to identify a beehive spring that will work with the cam I've picked out but draggin my feet. Lunati Bootlegger •Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 284/309 •Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 232/244 •Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .554"/.554" •LSA/ICL: 108/104 •Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/Hyd •RPM Range: 2800-6000 We'll be running a domed piston bout 11.0:1 CR

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Thanks for checking in! My heads are all done. Got some beehives from Lunati. Trying to squirrel a way a few more sheckles for pistons and rods now.

Re: My '67 Fleetside C10 renew
Yup, he needs to bounce though. Working his tail off for not a lot of $$$ and their promise of training on machine tools has not come true. He's an expert at tear-down, hot tank and magnaflux. He did land a part time deal with one of their customers, ebay seller hpenginesuperstore, which might grow into something better for him.
