Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

Hey guys well trying to get back on the truck.
Built a Jig for the box to sit on while I fab up some goodies. I don't want to work on the bed while its on the frame.

I used some 3/4" Pine to mount the bed sides and use some wood and a ratchet strap to square up the bedsides to the frame rails. Next it to take a dent out of the front panel so I can get it mounted. This is mock up phase as I have a few mods I am going to do on the bedsides.
More to come!!!

Hey looking good. Keep at it. I can't wait to see what you have in store for the bed. I have my suspicions but I'll wait to see for sure.

Awesome truck! The amount of work done to this truck is amazing. I hope to see this finished in the future.

Hey DW. I didn't have the room to work on everything so worked on the cab first. I had some work to do on this so needed a lot of room.

Hey All,
With this COVID-19 crap going on I have been busy at work but my painter is off and has started working, cutting and buffing the cab. Yesterday we hung the doors moved it out of the shop and into the sun. Here is a quick picture.
Stay safe!

Looking good. Keep up the good work and stay healthy and safe. I'm out of work so I have a lot of time to work on my project now. The problem is I have no money coming in. Being a business owner I can't collect unemployment. Rough times are brewing here unfortunately. I'm trying to stay positive and working on my truck helps me cope with my anxiety over all this Covid crap.

Yes this sucks for everyone but especially for the ones that have to actually stop work with no way to recoup. Maybe the stimulus will help a little???

Nice touch, I like your fender badges! Had some custom badges made for my truck as well at a local machine shop.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I was able to get a few things on the truck for the final time (I hope).

One bad thing is I had to order a new lock kit as I cant seem to find the door locks. I think they were taken when my stuff was stolen and I didn't get them back....

I also got the wing window delete kit and power window regulator kit in the driver door. I did not really like the side mirrors I had bought sometime back so I have to get a different style before I put the window in the door as it will be tough to get back there once the window is in. More to come....

I went with the NuRelics kit. A little pricey but they are really nice and heavy. I ordered them specially made for the one piece window kit.

Like to hear what you think about the one piece side glass. Was considering going that route myself but have read negatives about the conversion in the past. I have the NuRelics power window kit myself. Are you using the NuCrank switches as well?

Good morning Richard.
I went with the brothers kit. The other kit on the market has a lot of alterations to the door. So far the kit installed nice I just have to install the glass but need to get my mirrors installed first.
I didn’t go with the NuCrank switches because it only controls one side. I went with the machined double switch on the driver and single on the pass.
As for the negatives I read it’s the floppy feel when the window is at 50%. My painter has these installed as well and the window does move a little. But he has the original regulator and the NeRelics are much stronger plus I want to add a glass brace off a convertible car. It will ride on the glass for support at 50%. We wil see.
So much little stuff going on.
I will post pictures soon.

Re: Project 68 k10 LWB..aka "The Hulk"

I am not sure if anyone has heard of Mikes Billet Mirrors. I was looking for a nice simple mirror or something no long or stuck out since I have the one piece side windows.
https://mike-billet-mirrors.wixsite....billet-mirrors
I plan to move them forward since the wing window is gone. The height of the mirror is 5.5” I think it will give a sporty look but bulky enough for the 4x4 look. We will see this week when they come in.
Also these are “Made in the USA”. Texas actually. The guy has a interesting story also. Here is his Facebook page

I went the NuCrank switches. Got the harness for passenger control. It just adds another standard switch to the drivers side to control the passenger. Probably just going to wire in a small toggle that will transfer control to the drivers door switch. Kind of like a power side mirror control.

I was going to do the same but at the last minute I changed my mine. I want to do something custom to the door panel and kinda hide the switched in the arm rest or something!
