Heres mine. Wish it had real patina and not four layers of paint, but it is MY shorty fleet and nobody elses. I LOVE IT!!

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
That is a really weird looking car/truck thing. Looks like a lot of work went into it.

I like it. 69 front end, 67-72 visor, 73-91 suburban tailgate, and 60-66 taillights.

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
So, I'm a VW guy, and I hate to say it, but most of the hot rod paint trends show up at the VW shows first.
This my flat black '56 with red interior bug...painted in 2004. and the patina look has been in for VW a long time also. here's my 59 Also about four or five years ago, I saw bugs sanded to bare metal and clear coated. The was a 50's Suburban on the hot rod power tour done that way, and lot of people have not seen it. The latest trend is original paint, but a non matching repair panels is a bonus. the replacement part should have original paint also. |

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?
A lot of VW guys are Chevy guys also....I always have had a Chevy truck and a VW. My first truck was a 49 chevy and my first car was a 73 beetle.
I wouldn't fancy a new Camaro or Corvette, but I it's hard to ignore the character of an old truck. |

No patina, no logo, no rust - but I bet it had all 3 at some point in it's life.
