You are 100% mistaken. We ARE NOT talking about the same kit. The one is this topic is NOT availible right now. You ARE talking about ANOTHER kit. Based on the pricing, it is the Current kit that has been offered for the past 8 years. If you would like to discuss the Old kit, please take it to a new post, not this one...

What method is used to secure the new rubbers where the vent window used to be? I assume that it uses the factory provisions, but I don't know if there are any factory provisions where the vent window is.

I understand that this info may not be OK to release until the patent is issued, so if you cannot respond, that is OK, or if you prefer to take it to PM or call me, that is OK also. I can shoot you my cell# or something.

Thanks!
Shifty, I can request those pictures, but it really depends on whether it reveals any specifics to the patent. I believe it will use some sort of glue to secure it to the door like the 73-87 kit.

Have you seen the pics I posted here on the second page. There is an inside/outside pic.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=223482&page=2
here they are:

It will be a couple days since Elizabeth was born Thursday and I am trying to get the comfortable first.

The kit comes with everything needed to convert the window. You can gut a working door down to the factory regulator, trash everything else, order the manual kit and have a door ready to go without anything else needed.

Re: One Piece 67-72 Windows (no triangles)

Any word on if they are still coming into stock by the end of the month? I would like to mock mine up and have them in the door to put my rockers on, as I would assume they may add a little weight to the door and want to be sure my gaps will be right...Thanks

Randy

Re: One Piece 67-72 Windows (no triangles)

Congrats RE: Elizabeth!!

Ready for pics if you can get them. I am very curious. Idea of glue sounds a little funny to me. I plan on painting *after* installing the windows, so gluing sweeps onto the door might be a problem for my install.

I can't help but add, the kit looks sweet, expecially stuff like the chrome bezel on the door side of the sweep, etc.

Sounds like the upgrade from manual to power will be really easy, also.

it shouldnt be too mush of a problem to glue the wipe thingy on after the paintjob when the windows are allready in , if needed you should be able to drop the windowns intoo the door bij unbolting the mecanism for more room
or when youre planning on driving the truck first you could get an extra set of them incase they get damaged removing them , those pieces of rubber wouldnt cost an arm and a leg anyway

You can order it right now on my website,
http://store.73-87chevytrucks.com/me...tegory_Code=6T

Depending on the number of people interested the discounts will be added accordingly, but I am going to have to have some actual orders. Check this post for the current number of "interested/count me in's"
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=223855

Not really sure about all the people that are saying count me in as there has only been 1 actual member purchase.

Yes, They will be shipped at the end of the month. The kits are already together, just waiting on the patent to clear.

Thanks!

I AM working on getting pics that won't reveal anything, not making promises as it really is up to him on what he releases to me, but I am trying.
The 73-87 kits glue in also, so as said you can install them afterwards, still clarifying though.

Power = simple, just bolt the power kit in place of the manual.

That is part of the patent and I can't reveal that information. I can tell you that it is taken care of in the kit.

Ok, I asked for a pic basically looking down from the top of the window channel down to where the glass is. He said it would be next week but he would get it.

The current scrapers WILL be glue in for sure. In the future if the rubber company cooperates there will be a clip version, but because there is no place to connect where the vent was, it will still require glue.

Update: FYI, just talked to them and they are still waiting for the patent to clear, it will probably be 2 more weeks. I will keep you posted and those that have ordered will be called when they are shipped.

Well - thinking about that further - there really is a place to clip to - you coil have a J-shaped clip on the wing window side that would clip under the rolled sheetmetal right there, I believe.

Patent applications to the USPTO generally take 2-3 years to be processed. It is unlikely that a company would wait until a patent was issued to market a product (come up with idea, prosecute patent, sit and wait 2-3 years, begin selling)... so I'm not really sure what "waiting for the patent to clear" is supposed to mean. It sounds to me like it's their version of "production schedule has slipped so we can't ship product yet."

(??)

I would like to get these but will wait for a few to be installed before I purchase. I think one of these kits and new regulators and they will roll up and down like a dream.

I kinda wondered about that patent statement as well. 2-3 years is normal could take longer! They could just put "patent pending" on the parts and be protected retroactively when thier patent is approved. You do not have to actually have the patent approval to be protected. The "patent pending" protects you until you are approved. But if your patent eventually is denied, then you have no protection.

Re: One Piece 67-72 Windows (no triangles)

The hold up is the approval from his lawyers that it has been submitted to the process from what I understand. I am not getting all in his legal business, so I only relay what little I am told.

There isn't any production slippage, there are 10 kits already assembled and packaged waiting for release approval from his lawyers.

Well that clears it up a little...
So if submittal is all they are waiting on then that could happen anytime. The design will be "Patent Pending" when it ships.

Oh well it will be nice to see some of these installed and hear about the install process!

I never have understood the whole...."we have a new better badder product never seen before but ya cant get it yet" deal. Why not wait until there is an actual product ready for sale before you start selling?
Looks like a killer idea.....but as of yet thats all it is.

I would think it's to generate capital for the investment involved, and, if nothing else, to generate a buzz.

Well there is an actual product ready to sell. There are several packaged and ready to ship right now... It just they aren't releasing them until they are covered from others copying their product.
