Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

Hey Brent, ya I was actually just buying the bed but he said I can have the whole truck for another $100 bucks so I bought it. It is actually in better shape than my green one with disc brakes and 5 lug wheels. I think it is going to be my winter project. I am still working on the green one right now. I need your blue passenger side fender...Is it for sale, or I can trade you for one that I have that is in great shape, it just doesnt have any paint on it. I am trying to find a passenger door that color as well. Hope you are doing goog. Jeff

Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

Here are a few more pics for you to look at. These are form the Goodguys show in columbus OH. Where I luckily won Classic Trucks Magazine Finest 5 and should be featured in an issue around Dec or Jan if everything goes well..... I should also have some interior pics on the way soon too.

Thanks
Kevin

Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

Can I see a pic at normal Ride height
???? Please??

I am going to change to a 20/22 setup when I notch the rear and would like to see how these trucks look like while driving with the bigger wheels. I have a 18/20 setup now. THanks.

Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

I love the look of the truck! Why do you guys run 18/20 combos or 20/22 combos? What is the purpose of that? Front wheel well clearance? Looks?
Also, do airbags help with ride quality with 22s? I would imagine that with a wheel that big and almost no rubber on it, the ride quality is going to be lacking. These may seem crazy, but if someone could please enlighten me i would greatly appreciate it. I love my truck, and i love working on it. They say that a smart man learns from his mistakes and a wise man learns from other peoples mistakes. I want to do it right the first time.

1low71, how did you get around the hood hinge? Do the tires rub/contact the hinge? What size tire 305/40/22?

Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

I think your truck is killer! Im glad to see (for the lack of a better name) "Rat- Rod" style cars and trucks being accepted at big shows! 10 years ago people didn't get the weathered look....now day's they call it patina i've allways just called it cool! I think it's funny to see a guy that spent 20 grand on paint & body pull up at a show and polish on all day, and a truck like yours pull's in and has a crowd around it all day!!! Your truck is a perfect example that you dont have to spend 100 grand to have something cool, stance is everything and your truck nail's it!!!

Re: What do you think? c10 on 22's

i like the "everything else modified but the paint" look it is killer, but it has to have something painted on the doors just to tpo it off

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

I like the look too. Nothing like someone walking by and seeing a full blown suspension and motor set up on a old truck...and getting confused.

This truck (in that last pic) exemplifies the fact that a couple inches off the ground with a tiny rake looks far better than laying out.
