Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
I just checked last night to see if you had any progress pics/info.
I can tell you when I went through physical therapy I am pretty sure my therapist was into S/M. She certainly did enjoy making me feel the pain. I know once you get older you don't heal as fast, but I'm with you..... 45 days is a long time. I know you're wanting to, but you have to find something that he wants to push and get better for. I will continue praying for him. Anyway, the truck is looking good. I glad this painter is trying. I hope the final results are worth all the problems. I really like the wide beds better, but they are getting harder to find. Matt & I did get a new narrow bed without the spare in the fender. Its very original, great wiring, but does have some rust issues. (DON'T they all) I don't know how you keep up with 4 projects, $$ or time. Matt keeps me humping just helping on what he has going. I am going to try and get this last on on the road for the board meet in July. Are you going to be able to make it? Lee

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
I went thru and re-read your thread. That truck is looking so good. I hope it gets out of the body shop soon.
Where did you get the drip rail repair metal? Or did you fab it yourself. I really like heads up racing a lot more. Hope the class works for you and the Luv. Lee

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
O.K. i got alittle update . I'm on dial up ( no high speed cables run here yet ) so weekend traffic made it hard to load pictures . I'll get more up on monday . The interior is almost done . The drivers door had a broken spline on the handle allowing it to skip teeth when trying to open the door . An owner in the past ( not Matt or Lee ) never replaced it and When it wouldn't open they just "put some shoulder in it " . The drivers door was caved in pretty good from the inside . It had to be worked back out, welded and smoothed . the top of the dash under the windsheild had some surface rust pitting and had to be worked pretty good also . He was reworking this area when I was there . The drip rails I purchased from LMC i believe . If you google 67-72 drip rails , you'll be surprised haw many offer them . I found out about them by reading others build threads . Any way i think he would be farther along , but he has had air compressor problems . Anyway here they are .

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
Yea , i cut the dash , gotsta have me some tunes . single CD player . Built a plate to bolt 2 speakers under the dash . Havn't committed to cutting the doors for 6 x 9's yet . Was thinking about a spectrum EQ under the dash . Nah , that's for the air
That's the original blue minus the sun fade . The outside is where i strayed from factory ( but not too far ) with the Camaro bright white . Summit white i think is the offical name . Ashtray is correct . Trying to change things just enough so when you are talking to someone about the truck you can tell if they know whats going on when they will catch the little details the rest will just miss . I want it to have a special personality . I really want it back at the house . I have everything to finish it stored in the garage and I think it will really come together quick once it's home .

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
Just thought i'd let ya know whats going on since pictures of me replacing heater control levers are boring . I went today and looked it over . It is "jambed out" The inside of the front fenders and door jambs are done . He is working on the drip rail and has been finish water sanding it . It is slick . He had it up on jack stands and was preparing to put the base down tonight followed by the clear tomorrow Followed by buff friday morning . it took 6 weeks , but I think it will be well worth $1200 . Pics coming soon .

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
It is home finally . Sorry for the delay . I got it home friday evening . Started out saturday and pulled the front and rear glass in it . The front was tough , as I was working alone . I had a neighbor stop by and give me a hand on the rear . I have already scratched 2 spot one under the hood the other under the front drip rail . Got alot of the dash stuff back in already . the bed isn't finished yet and I'm waiting on door panels , the cowl , mirror arms , grill trim and headlight surrounds . There are a few wax pencil marks that bled through that he will repair later for me . I will also have him buff it out alittle more . I'm happy with it anyway . Feedback is always appreciated .

Re: Project: white knight 1967 step
It looks great. Well worth the wait.
Are you going with the wide bed? Still got the inliner in it? I'm thinking you were going with a 5 speed, any thing on that? Can't believe you got the windshield in by yourself. Thoughts on lowering it? Looks like the major hold back is behind you, hope to see you driving it soon. Lee
