Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Man, that's turning out great! Can't wait to see that blitz black laid on, especially with the drop and the contract to the white...it's going to sweet.

As far as the tailgate - since the rest of your truck is shaved, take the trim off, strip the rust and address any rust through, dents as best as you can...and paint to match. I think just about anything is possible, but...easier said than done. haha.

Keep at it man, can't wait to see more pics.

Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.

Well I got the u bolts off. I had to cut them then with the biggest hammer we have and a long pipe. Pounded them threw it was a fight the whole way.
Then I started cleaning up the rust. And it looks like I'm going to paint it. Also I need spring retainers but I don't want to order them... So I'm going to either pull the other one off the truck up north or see if I can buy them in town. Or make some.
Well I'm headed out to the shop right now.

i took a hockey puck shaved it down to the dimision of the spring. cut it to fit right. then drilled a hole in it. the cut a plate of steel and drilled a hole it that. should hold up right?

Looking good man!

The hockey puck thing is clever, and it looks like it'll work just fine. Other's may disagree, but I've seen some hokey fixes in my time, and they work just fine. They're not pretty, or proper, but it works.

Keep at it man.

Don't see why not. It centers the spring and holds it down. At least half of it won't rust either!

Great work so far.

Considering the abuse a Hockey puck goes through (at least mine did as a kid) it should do the job just fine! Very thoughtful!
