Re: What i thought was the start of my 63 lwb build
Nope had this one since 05
I may have had it up for sale on Kijiji once but I never ended up selling it. It's worth more to me than anyone else I guess LOL

Re: What i thought was the start of my 63 lwb build
Once that was all done it was parked outside in the parking lot and the neighbor guy didn't see it and ran into the back corner of the bock wrecking my one good box side and mangling the back of the cab.
I didn't have insurance on it yet so of course I am still trying to get paid out by his insurance for about 3 weeks now. Im sure it will work it self out but really lame!

Re: What i thought was the start of my 63 lwb build
So far I brought it back to the shop. Put an new windshield in, lowered the back (2 inch blocks and a slightly heated spring and chopped bump stops in rear and 3 inch spindle and 1 coil cut on the front) new window sills hood hinges and few other little trinkety things.
This is how she sits now

Re: What i thought was the start of my 63 lwb build
Lastly
I was liking the idea of leaving the patina (financially motivated decision) BUT With the black primed fenders and the work I did on the doors years ago when I thought I didn't like the trim and now with work likely needing down to the box and the cab Im not digging it as much anymore. Im throwing the idea around of doing bare steel cleared with a bit of rough look to it....Its different and tough looking and I can do it for cheap. Thoughts anyone?!

That sucks about the body damage. Hopefully you can be compensated adequately and be able to get the repairs done.
I like the stance and the wheel and tires.

I don't mind a truck that's been cleared on bare metal. But that will cause problems too. Turn yellow in the sun. If it's just something to get by till you can paint it so you can enjoy the truck. I say go for it. It's your truck and no one elses.

My wife says she's not a fan of the bare metal look and I like it one day then I'm not sure the next. I would just like to do something with it to get a more even uniform look. The problem with that is the body needs a lot of work and I'm not qualified or fundified enough at the moment to do much of that. It's pretty cool the way it is. now that I've been working on it for a few weeks I'm getting over zealous. I need to have a little patience and have fun ripping around for a bit.
