All my body panels are original, all I changed was the drive train, not sure if they will hassle you since the vin # is on the cab.

If it was me I would just swap the VIN tags. I know, I know... but the cabs are exactly the same, so morally speaking I think it would be ok to do.

Had a little bit of time to waste the other day so I finally got to finish off the trailing arms the way I wanted to. Went and got some solid aluminum round stock and made myself some billet trailing arm ends and polished them up, and installed a set screw to hold them all in place. I am happy with the results and I think it finishes off the arm nicely. I will eventually clear coat them but for now I just put some sealer on them.

The guy who polished my grill sugested Master Formula. I got it at the San Diego County Fair last year, it seems to work ok, haven't used it too much though.

Several reasons why I did not go with Hooker; The hooker pipes are 4" dia. and with them hanging low on the side I did not want to add any more clearance issues. The Patriot side pipes are 3.5" an would give a bit more clearance given that it is a long wheel base and going into driveways and parking lot I did not want to high center. Since this is a daily driver it was more of an issue than if it was a weekend toy. Second is the price, Patriot was quite a bit less than the hooker pipes. From what I could tell there was not much difference between the two other than the Hooker glass pack could be removed and replaced when the glass was blown out or for racing. The Patriot pipes have a single tack weld holding the glass pack in place so if I needed to remove the muffler I could with out much trouble. Third was the length, maybe they do sell them longer but the longest I found the Hooker product in 65" length and I needed 73" and Patriot had them that long. SWB trucks might have an easier time with the shorter length pipes.

Fenders? or frame? I am using the original ram horn headers that came with the truck and they work great. They were routed at a 90* bend directly behind the rise in the forward frame rail, about right in line where you see them disappear under the truck. I did not come out from the headers in the wheel well area, the way it works out the side pipes miss the fender and wheel well altogether. It was definitely a custom fit up and not just bolt on item.
I am still trying to get a good sounding video of the truck, just dragging my feet I guess.

well my big concern is if the hooker headers will go low enought to clear the fender but not too low.... I called hooker and they don't even have dimensions

Awesome truck man. I love the lowering kit and all the custom work u did i wish i could do all of that. U should paint the chevrolet in the grille black and around the headlights or have someone photoshop it to see what it would look like.

I would love to get some of the San Diego members together. Seems like the So Cal chapter is mostly up in L.A. area. I am going to start going to the La Mesa and El Cajon street meets when they start up again. I know that spots can be reserved for clubs to come and park, and it would be cool to have a whole line of trucks on display. Long Horn, Yeah, that is on my list to get done, but I just cannot seem to find the time and I have a bunch of other projects in line in front of it.

Hey I almost forgot, after about 8 month battle with the DMV they finally said uncle and issued the YOM plates that I restored. Had them on the truck that day. Now I just need to build a rear bumper to hang it on, The rear window placement is getting old. Pics tommorrow.
