Re: your 2011 plans for your 67 72
Buy a tonneau cover and switch my 16x8 wheels for 15x7 fronts and 15x8's in the rear. Minor projects and get ready for the Second Annual Mid Ohio 67-72 Truck Meet.

Re: your 2011 plans for your 67 72
My Truck is going in, for Interior Paint!
I moved down to Southern California. I asked a local Car Club who'd they recommend for Mechanic/Paint, and this shop came up repeatedly. I also got to see the work he did on other members cars. The thing that impressed me, was the quote (just going over the Interior of my Truck), took almost an hour. They asked me what I did/didn't want. I told them EVERYTHING I wanted them to do, and then if it was too much, I could scale back from there. When they were done, I said "PERFECT"....DO EVERYTHING". It goes into the shop a week from tomorrow (Monday the 10th). They said barring any unforeseen problems, that it would be approx. 2 weeks. They'll be pulling ALL the Windows, Painting, and then installing new: Dash Pad Carpet Kit Billet Gauge Cluster Billet Glove Box Billet Rear View Mirror. Painting the Kick Panel Speakers to match Weather Stripping All new Window Felts Then my Son will come up in a couple of weeks to install the Stereo/Sirius Satellite! He gave me a $20.00 an hour discount on the Labor (from $80.00 an hour, down to $60.00). So when all was said and done, it was a $2K discount. Final Estimate was $2600.00 After seeing his work (paint AND Mechanical), he's got MY Business. Heres what will be keeping MY Truck company, while it's in the shop.........

- Bolt the suspension back onto the frame and make it a rolling chassis.
- Put drivetrain and exhaust in. - Convert rear to five lug - Finish body work on Cab and Paint it. - And if i have any time left in the year i will try to get the rest of the body panels painted

Re: your 2011 plans for your 67 72
I am going to finish the overhaul of my 396 and get it installed so I can drive my truck. When that is done, I told the wife I would put up the Longhorn for sale and get rid of project clutter. Sad to see the Longhorn go, but I am positive I will have lots of fun with that 396 in my c10!

Install the Magnaflow ss system I received for Christmas. Hope to find a set of headers that will fit my 72 c10 307, 4 speed manual, and order a drop kit from Early Classic.

Just adding some pieces here and there if I find them.
Right now just working on getting it how I want it as I'll be needing it come spring. Haven't decided how far I want to go with it just yet. |

Re: your 2011 plans for your 67 72
Gonna put in the new floor shifter, install the speaker and cargo box behind the seats,, and maybe, still debating on swapping out the stock three gauge cluster and upgrading with new ones and rewire if it's not to much of a pain.

Re: your 2011 plans for your 67 72
As of right now, it will probably just be little stuff like get the reverse lights and front side markers hooked up, put some new bulbs in the gauge cluster and dome light, hook the heater controls back up and fix the turn signal. If I can get my 37 Chevy finished and buy another car, I would like to get started on rebuilding my 68 because it really needs to be done. I wish it wasn't as rusty as it is because I love it right now as I can haul anything it in and not have to worry about scratching the paint or anything.
