Re: Any van love?

I had your vans brother when I was working in Norway. I jack knifed it badly hauling a cherrypicker from our worksite during winter. It was like geting a tank slapper on a motor bike, once it started to wobble there was nothing to do but hang on for dear life. Lucky for me it was late night and little traffic. Skidded trough 4 lanes and ended up in the barrier. The frame was bendt so the insurance company totaled it. I got a 1999 Starcraft after that, It was a nice upgrade comfort wise :-)

Re: Any van love?

I've been thinking of getting a van lately, just because. And this one come up for sale locally.

I'm hoping it's still available in a month or so, because I'm pretty busy with the truck right know and don't have room for two projects. Once the trucks done, I'm going to seriously start looking for an old van just like this one, if it's no longer available.

I wouldn't do a thing to the van other then lower it, maybe even bag it. Might also put an old school looking roof rack on. I want an old window van.

Re: Any van love?

My son is working on a 78 Chevy van now. I dug out a bunch of my 70's Hot Rod mags to give him a few ideas. I will post some pics up later. Here is an old pic of the van I had high school (1975). It was faded out red when I got it. Worked on it through Xmas break that year and painted it. My freinds called it the loafwagon, they thought it was shaped like a loaf of bread. The dent in the side was from a Porche 914 backing into it. I bet there are some Pontiac guys out there that would just love to have those ralley wheels and wide oval tires. They came off of 72 Firebird my brother had at the time.

Re: Any van love?

Here is one I've had for about 15 years and its still not done. Brake lines, front disc brakes and master cylinder and it's done. I cleaned up around it Friday and pulled it out.

Re: Any van love?

bumping this thread... picked this up about 6 months ago, I use it for dirt bike / camping. i was looking to buy a pickup but came across this 93 G20. I love it.

I am looking to service the front suspension... hoping i can find some info here on the forum on upgrading to 6 lug with just a hub/rotor/caliper swap, but not looking promising

Re: Any van love?

I picked up this 92 a few months ago with only 48k miles. Spent some time stripping off the crazy amounts of pinstripes. Now I'm working on changing the color of the interior. I swapped out the 8in TV and original Nintindo for a 19 in flat screen and a PS2. Installed a set of 17x9s and duals with flowmasters. Not sure what Im going to do with it now that my sierra is on the road the van is on the back burner.I was going to post some pics but I dont know how.

Re: Any van love?

Which was the best van with all the good luxuries and captains chairs and such? The ones that had curtains in the windows and lots of wood and the chairs would swivel to face each other. That's the van I want. I think that it might have been an early 90's thing though.

Love the vans. Sporting a 2000 Astro at the moment would love to score an older 70's model for the family

I did get the truck off craigslist and couldnt be happier with it. Thanks for the pic link. Here is the van I was refering to. Since this pic was taken I got rid of those awful running boards and wheels. I installed a set of 17x9s and took off all the stripes.
