Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

From the pics below you can see the white chalky look on the frame, this part of the etching process, and rust protection, The next two processes add the color (Satin Black)

I am still waiting for a 60 degree day to paint the frame.

I also need a 60 degree day to get the Heater Core Fiberglass Cover painted Black

I was checking the mounting of the Brake Booster.

Here are a couple of pics.

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

I will have to take a picture tomorrow.

Today, I cut a 2ea. 4.00" hole's in the drive shaft cross member, then welded in a 4.00 diameter x .125wall thickness tubing, into the hole for support.

This will be my exhaust route for my lowered truck.

I decided to get this taken care of first, then paint my frame tomorrow.

Temp should be about 60 degrees and low moisture tomorrow.

A good day to paint. Hopefully.

Very, very nice. The exhaust through the cross member is fantastic. I am shortening my frame now and I intend to to the same before I put my truck back together.

Still need to finish the frame Paint.

Once I get the parts back from the powder painter which should be this coming week.

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

Hey Mud.man.Rj,

Northern Canada, yea you probably have a lot more snow than I do.

I dont usually get this kind of weather in Southern Oregon, Just 30 miles from the California Border.

But, I wanted to go Motorcycle riding today, but look at that Bike.

It is actually nice to have some snow, really pretty, it is suppose to snow all night and tomorrow, then it will be gone.

This is all due to Phil the Ground Hog seeing his shadow, I think it's time to go ground Hog Hunting.

Phil the Groung hog is probably protected after what he brought, like you said I guess it doesn't last long there, only last 6 months here that is why people by snowmobiles here and I drive a lifted truck because and 2wd just sits way to long around here, but lots and lots of build time just have to drive a lot when you can,

Re: 67' C10 Build V8 Conversion & 700r4 trans

Didn't get much done Today.

Well no pictures you would want to see due to weather and a 60 ft tall Pine tree fell over in the front yard.

I am glad it did not fall across the street and cause an accident.

i had to cut it into pieces and remove it from the small 4 ft tall pine that it was resting on.

But tomorrow I am back on the truck to work on the frame, some more, i hope.

It looks like i am going to have a good paint day on Sunday, so I need to still do frame step #2 & #3

Then on Sunday hopefully get step's #4 & #5, this may be wishful thinking.
