Thanks, were you able to make yours out on the wall? The yellow that is on the cab is a little different from what I am planning on going with this time around. So far the plan is early 60's butternut yellow.

Today was slow in the shop, but never the less was a good day. I brought my bike home from storage. All the toys are now home Although it is still too early for serious riding/driving it is definately time to get them ready.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Nice bike! been thinking of ditching the dirt bike for a cruiser, as the knees can't take it much more. nice paint on that thing! going with a yellow theme for the toys?

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Thanks, the paint is the factory Victory paintjob. Looks great in pics but the graphics are just decals underneath the clearcoat. I would like to repaint it but I just can't justify repainting it. Yellow has always been my favorite color

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

so looking at how you smoothed the driver side of your firewall, are you gonna run a e-brake?

Totally the best bang for your buck! I don't get alot of time to ride it these days, two kids under five makes time a little hard to come by but I will never sell it.

I am still planning on running an e-brake, I figured it was easier to fill it all in now and re-cut the hole for the cable at a later date. Hopefully in a less obtrusive location.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Not alot of progress this weekend, but I did manage to layout for the porterbuilt hinges and get a little bit of mud on the firewall.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Decided to finish gutting my parts truck this weekend. It is/was a 68 GMC with a 6cyl/3OTT. The dash is uncut so I decided to remove the entire thing. Hopefully I managed to take off everything I need.

The driver side of the firewall was very close to the valve cover, less than a 1/4" between them. I first sliced the wall vertically and then horizontally about every 1" or so. Then I folded them in on eachother, I have also bent the piece to replace the area where the clutch rod used to come through. By doing it this way I was able to avoid cutting into the bracing that is in that area. Now I am just waiting on my friend to help me weld it up. I really need to learn how to weld!! When finished I am hoping that it will flow as smoothly as the passenger side does.

Welding's not hard to learn, just start doin it and watch and understand what the wire's doing and where it's going. A good helmet is worth gold!

For sure, I'll cut it out tomorrow. I double checked your build thread and saw what happened, it'll be my pleasure to donate it to the repair.

Re: Forever project "The Beast"

Sorry guys, ive been a little lax on my posts. Life has been extremely busy lately. The wife is now currently 40 weeks plus 5 days pregnant Which mean all kinds of stuff to do around the house. But I know how much everyone likes pic so here are a few. First a few of the family hanging in the shop with me. Mostly just cleaning up. And a few of the truck how she sits now.
