thanks......it has a long way to go. I planned on power coating it but since we are boxing frame that will be out and we will stick with painting. I don't know how many of you guys have used all metal but we plan on smoothing the frame before we paint. All the money and time into this frame I could have had Art Morrison custom build me a new one.

That is a very good question. I plan to run remote filters outside of the box and also considered a fan. I could mount the compressors on the side of the frame without much interference. I wanted the boxes to be on both sides but I guess they don't have to............

I found them on amazon.com. I looked long and hard for these darn things. Nice quality fittings.

Yesterday was a great day as the anticipation of recieving the brakes for the C10 was finally satisfied. Kore 3 supplied the 14" front 13.5" rear corvette Z06 rotors and assembly brakets. I have yet to order the Z06 calipers and I am undecided whether to get the black or red with the corvette logos or the silver Grand Sport calipers w/o the logos. I have not resided on an exterior color yet so I did not want to buy the calipers. What do you guys think about the corvette logos on a C10??

its the sand....no, just kidding it is more of a satin finish. when i get it back in the garage I will get better pictures of it.

thank you. it was a hard decision to make to spend that kind of money on brakes:wash: With the big wheels it seemed almost necessary to have a big rotor on it. The Wilwood's would have been another $1000 over these to go with the 14's. As blfuller123 said I think the Corvette logos would look great. I know there are a few other guys running the KORE 3 setup and I got my idea from them. The things you learn on the forum. I will say those guys are very helpful, very knowledgeable and great to do business with. I wanted a rush order on mine and the extra money was fair and worth it. Beware, a bunch of rotors, nuts, bolts and brackets show up and one must figure out where they all fit.!!

I am just starting to mock up the brake lines. I know this is going to be somewhat of a tedious process. Do you guys mock up your brake lines first, remove, paint, and reinstall or just install brake lines once your frame is done. I have come to realize that although these two big ass boosters are great for getting brake components out from my engine bay and under dash, they are going to involve some plumbing. The Wilwood master cylinders are under the dash so, I have to run two lines back, one to each booster, and then I need to run one line forward to the front brake lines.............3 lines front to back instead of 1(whoops, 4 including vacuum line).........if anyone has any ideas please pipe up. I stuck on a vacuum canister you can see on the far side of the frame.



Here I am trying to figure out my front air and brake lines. The front frame is to be boxed and i want to keep the lines inside the frame. On the brake lines I might try to install a -3 AN bulkhead fitting in the frame to keep it clean. Not sure how it is going to play out though. Any thoughts I am still working on the airlines. I am using 3/8 line which is probably overkill. The 1/4 inch is easy to fish but the 3/8 is a lot tougher to bend. I am really creating a lot of work just to have the frame boxed.



Dual batteries, not sure why one wouldn't work but 2 should work better......right



Hoping to remove differential and trailing arms tomorrow and getting them painted.

I did have a color picked out. I was actually stealing the idea from the below picture. I love the lower chrome molding. Unfortunately last week I was checking out the Tootsee build and I see Carter Hickman had a rendering completed for superfly and the build was already in progress..............at least I get to see what it would have looked like Can't build the same truck so right now the theme will be either gloss or matte black with a lipstick red interior. At least for now that is a serious consideration.

Most of yesterday was spent sandblasting parts. This could qualify on the show Dirty Jobs. The 40LB sandblasting tank I got from Harbor Freight works like a charm. I just picked up a 100 gallon 7.5 hp dual cylinder air compressor so air supply which can be the biggest setback in sandblasting keep up with no problem. We just used play sand and filtered it though a screen for our abrasive. Curious what you guys use?? The differential came out looking as new. Sprayed a little "wash primer" on it so it won't rust. In the next few days we will used a bondo to clean up around the welds, painting it, and it will look like new. This will be the first painted part on the truck to be ready.

I have a sand blaster too. It works great when although my little 60 gallon 4.5 hp compressor usually lets me know when its tired of sand blasting for the day. lol. Truck is coming along nicely.

You have a pretty good sized compressor yourself. I have a nice 60 gallon compressor like yours. However, a friend of mine had this 7.5 hp 100 gallon compressor at his business. It was almost new and he gave it to me. It has an automatic drain function and an air cooler on the back. It was 3 phase so I had to buy a $500 220v motor to make it work. It pumps out a bunch of air. If you get yourself a storage tank off of your regular compressor it really helps a lot.

On your brakes Im pretty sure you did the cpp drop spindles but what model Kore 3 brakes did you buy and for the front and rear? And what bolt pattern did you go with?

Yes, I did the CPP drop spindles. I went with the 14" fronts and the 13.5 rears from Kore 3 and brackets for the Z06 brakes. All real nice quality stuff. I did not get my calipers yet because I can't decide between red, black, or the silver grand sport calipers.

It really is nice to be able to have the power to sandblast the body parts and stuff instead of sending it out.
