Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

Twin turbo ls motor wouldnt be high maintence, that Hilborn would look awesome though. Hope your mother recovers quickly, I've lost a family member to cancer as well.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

I'm subscribing to this one! As far as a motor goes I would do a nasty ls motor with a magnacharger or kenne bell maybe even a stack injection. Clean up the motor with some finned valve covers and hide the coils to still give it an old school feel. It would probably be more reliable and make more power than a sbc. Not matter what you do I'm sure it will be bad ass!

I'm also getting ready to build a tribute truck for my Sister Inlaw who is fighting Brain Cancer. Love the direction you're going with you're build. I'd go with the blowen LS motor. Prayers going out to you're mother.

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

I think an LSX motor with a roots type blower would be bad. Low maintenance, just get it set up and run with it. If you went with a polished blower, it would keep with the theme of the polished rearend and trans. Love the idea of the LEDs in the bed through the plexiglass. Can't wait to see more pics.

I am tipping back and forth i am going 871 with injector hat/i am going to look at the cost of ls vs small block. I am in the middle of buying a building which is eating my money so the motor had to be some what cost effective. I dont want to go over kill. This is the reason I am not going twin turbo. Also no one knows you have the turbos but they can hear the grass roots

My experiance with turbos and blower motors is turbos are more up keep. I have had 700 horse power single turbo motors and was always messing with maintance on the turbos. Just my experiance. I know turbo motors will make a stupid amount of power but grass roots are plain nasty looking. Plus I have a line on a bds blower for great price

Re: Tootsie build for my mother with cancer

My father in law and me are very close and he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer a few months ago. He has went through several rounds of chemo and is fighting it tooth and nail, needless to say it has turned our family upside down.

This is an awesome gesture for your mother and I'm sure it will be a killer ride that will make her very proud.

From our family to yours, we wish your mom and family the best.
