Re: How many still have stock tank in place?
I dont really have a crush on the in cab tank but I happen to live in a state that still doesn't think its citizens can pump there own gas by themselves. I also dont like the idea of lowering the tailgate every time to fill up too. If I could find a good way to get the filler neck accessible without needing to jump through hoops i would.

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?
Number 42 here, and a new tank has been ordered. I could not get the welder to follow my instructions, decided he knows and has done more welding than me (never picked up a torch or stick in my life) and the 4 hour water test this morning shows it still seeping. I wanted no water showing.
So, a new tank is the way to go. New question: what, if any, sealer should I use? I plan on running with Clear 92 octane fuel. A new tank shouldn't need a sealant or chemical liner, or so I think. Please chime in; I have a few days until the tank shows up.

One more here but mine leaks if I over fill it. Been a long time since I drove it though...

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?
Somewhere around 55 here. I was wondering if there was a way that we could put a bladder around the gas tank that would holdup to a crash like losthope's. I figure the main issue would be the filler neck pulling apart though.

59 for me. I have no plans to remove or modify it. With the price of gas here I like to hold it close to me. LOL

Re: How many still have stock tank in place?
Mine makes 65, should have waited one more to be 66...
I plan to leave mine where it is. If I did go to an under bed tank I would leave the filler there. Wouldn't want to regret it later. |

I didnt mean to hi-jack the thread I just wanted to show that in a serious crash or being t-boned from the side of the cab it can be dangerous compared to outside of the cab especially if your trapped in side like i was... On to the in cab gas tank count!
