Will do!

Anyways, tonight I remounted my fuse block to the top of the inner firewall which put the connector in the cowl area. I don't know how everybody else does this, but it seemed like it would work the best for me. I'm hoping water wont be too big of a problem, but I think it should be fine. Right arm
Still plugging away on the firewall, doesn't look that different but it's just about there. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Parked Indefinite
Not too much to update on, just a progress pic. Hope to get some epoxy primer on it tomorrow. Also a pic of the blue that will be the main colour.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Got 'er primed! Was tempted to just leave it epoxied, but my want for a blue truck prevailed.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Killer build man. I just read the whole deal and I'm impressed! I've got a few questions for ya. I know you channeled your truck but how much was it lowered before and the channel and how? Also what size tires you running? Thanks.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Did a homebrew axle flip on the back which i think netted around 6" and the front was 3" spindles and 2" coils. In hindsight I wish I had just cut the stock coils. Tires are just some basic 235/75/15's.

Re: Parked Indefinite
Hopefully all I'll need to endure tomorrow is a final bout of sanding so I can spray the base coat/clear coat on the firewall and surrounding areas. Nowhere near perfect, but should be good enough for a driver. Here's a pic of how it's coming along:

Anyways, firewall is painted. Came out so so, might sand and buff it in a few days, but I'll see how it looks in the morning. The blue is really dark, so I took this pic with the shop lights off and a work light on. I'll get some better pics eventually. |

Re: Parked Indefinite
Going to try to sand and buff the firewall down tomorrow as it is still pretty rough. The blue came out darker than I thought, but definitely comes alive in the light. Few more pics:

Re: Parked Indefinite
Thanks!
Sanded and buffed the firewall this morning, and ended up looking a little better. Still pretty bummed about it though. Oh well, it's just the firewall, and now I can focus on getting the engine back in. So that's what I spent the afternoon doing. Welded oil drains into the pan and started laying some paint on the mill. The pics to follow are how the the firewall ended up and some of the boiler itself. Covers still need to be cleaned up some... |
