yes, they do slide forward but i have to pull the wires under the seat before sliding. im not sure if the seat is missing something or if its an automatic thing when you pull the lever and mine just needs tweaking....but it only locks in one position so its not for adjustabilty. and the back doesnt tilt, so if you get some you would have to take that into account. i plan on modifiing the front mounting area up to in turn get some angle in the back.

Re: 78 squarebody 2wd made2drag

i drilled holes and then inserted some bolts

then sunk the heads in alittle, then mixed some 5 minute epoxy to harden. i did this because once the panels are on there would be no way to make sure they didnt turn while tightening the inside nut.

here you can see the bolt to fasten the panel and also where i drilled for the speaker mounting bolts. the fastener once tightened bites into the wood and makes for a very tight and removable way to fasten the speakers to the panels. dab of loctite and done. once the panels are on they can stay on...... since everything can be done thru the speaker hole...... including tightening the nuts to hold the panels on.

the end product. carpet from o'rielly's and WOW the sound is amazing! i have never heard door speakers sound so good. just radio power too. im sure people are going to say..."why didnt you use 6 1/2's....they sound better....blah, blah, blah..." next time you go to a stereo shop and can hear different speakers....6x9's kill 6 1/2's by a long shot...yea 6 1/2 separates....maybe....6 1/2 coaxial....no way. keep in mind i want loud ,clean and efficient and not worried about the sound quality that may or may not be heard....... and separates ran off of a deck would not be near as clean or loud. another thing i like about these 6x9's...turn it way up with bass set at 2 or 3 and i get a lot of midbass and i have yet to hear them bottom out. right now they are the only 2 speakers hooked up in the blazer and not sure i need rears

not really....its about the same. im thinking about throwing my 338's from my tan c10 on there to see how they look. might do that friday and post a pic or so. only have done a couple things...got a tan driver seat to get rid of the temp gray seat and i got a tahoe rear view mirror and i scored a 81-87 radiator core support for 39 bucks at Pull-a-part....someone bought a cab and left the core support and both fenders leaning up against the bed...i just put it in a wheel barrow and paid for it!!! i hid the fenders in a van close by to come back and get those later...barely got the core support to fit in my 95 civic hatch....lol

The stance/wheel/tire size is great - go for the Nova's.
