Curious about that as well. If its not much of one I'd be interesting in contracting him to make me a pair if he was up to it.. Lol

1150 is a great idea thanks, I better start lookin for one now and have it ready to go in when this 14 bolt lays down.

Blind spot, in my opinion, isn't bad at all and won't bother me anyway. It's no worse then the roll cage but whatever it's the best i could do with the tools i have and i'm in a hurry to get this thing done!

I couldn't stand how the mirrors didn't blend in so i made a bunch of changes and got them to fit much better! Keep in mind the mirror and window plate will both be painted.

I also threw together a rolling frame so the painter can roll the cab around his shop, plus it wouldn't fit inside the paint booth if it was on the chassis.

Very nice work on the truck! Yes, that 205 is going to explode, and I'm sure the 14 bolt won't be far from it. A 241DHD modified for RH drop is what you need! Another issue I for see for you is your front shackle. If you plan on pulling, you better go ahead and build some front traction bars. Your set up is similar to a OBS ford, and they hop like a SOB! Anyway, it looks bad ass, keep it up!

From your high quality standard of finishes to your frame and engine and all your other cab details... I'm betting your gonna rethink your mirrors. I like the mirrors too, but the upward pitch
That is gonna be one hell of a Kick @ss truck. NICE WORK

Re: 89 crew cab k20 4wd twin turbo cummins swap

Thanks guys!
So I got a LOT done this weekend, was up til 3 AM friday, then back at it 9AM sat all day then again sunday afternoon.
Finished a bunch of little things inside cab but i'll just post the interesting stuff,
Welded in the mirror mounts

Then relocated the fuse panel to clean up the firewall and hide the wiring. No need for the e-brake assembly since i'm using manual line locks.

Access hole

Then with a ton of help from Mr.chevyblack i chopped up the core support and redesigned the mounting of the intercooler so the headlights and grille fit. I took a lot of pictures for you guys that are looking to do the same:

Everything is just tack welded, and i still have to make mounting brackets:

Got the truck running, trying to get the pics to work, photobucket changed their whole website and it deleted all my photos. I'm working on getting it figured out.. Also working on a video of the first start which should be on youtube soon.

Re: 89 crew cab k20 4wd twin turbo cummins swap

Since Photobucket changed their site it deleted all my photos so I have to re-upload all of them! They best way to do it is upload the entire album at one time. So i apologize and that they're all out of order but photobucket won't let me organize them either..

Wow. That is some reinforcment on that frame. How much HP and TQ are you thinking you'll be running? This is pretty much what I want to do to my 86 K30. Any advice?

Make sure you do plenty of research before digging in, There's things i wish i would have done differently but it's too late now. Next build...

Been awhile since my last post.. I've been busy working on converting the old barn full of junk into another shop. It's mostly done now, just moved the truck in over the weekend, i forgot how many parts i've accumulated!!

Here's a before:

And after

Parts pile!!

Wow, just the shop transformation was awesome. What are the things that you wished you would have done differently? Just so future swappers can do the right thing in that area.

Nicely done on the shop. I see some new overhead beams, planning anything for the loft?

I like the open center with the horseshoe shaped balcony around it.

Re: 89 crew cab k20 4wd twin turbo cummins swap

Looking back I wish i didn't go with such a high lift, also wish i went with a 11.50 rear axle and coil sprung front. All in all i really wish i would have just done a simple cummins swap and not have gone overboard with everything.. Very easy to do though..

The loft is really cool actually! It was gonna be used for storage but we decided to keep it empty for the nieces and nephews to play in. I hung up a rope for them to the top of the 18 foot peak of the room, pry put up some basketball hoops too.
