Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Schoolboy, NICE truck! Did you have any issues with scubbing? I am about to put a set of these wheels on my 1979 Silverado. What tires sizes did you use on front and back? I am looking for a tire with around 4" of side wall. How much where the 2" adapters? Thanks for your time.

Do you think 1.5" adapters will work?

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

I had no scrubbing when turning, but did rub the fender lip in the front if wheel turned and hit a bump. These wheels/tires ran smoother than my wore out 235/70/15 tires. Google "5x5 to 5x4.75 adapters" and mine ran $200 shipped and were made to fit 73-98 2wd chevy/gmc hub diameter. As for tires, 245/45/20 and 275/40/20, theres about a 4 inch side wall.
1.5 adapters would work but in my opinion, not enough on the looks side.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Gotcha. So if I went with a bit smaller tire on the front say 3in sidewall I could eliminate some scrubbing and give myself a little more clearance?

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

when I say my truck is low for static drop truck its low. its about 5.5-6 in front and 7-8 in back. I rub even with the over wheels/tires. So as long as youre not extremely low, I would run those sizes.

Ok, gotcha. Mine is about 2-3 in front and 4-5 in rear. Thanks for your help. I will post some pics on here when I get it all done.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

School boy, did your adapters appear to be hub centric? Trying to decide if I should even worry about it and just run these. They've got a set of four on ebay for $109 shipped here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Wheel-Adap...5f01c0&vxp=mtr

The set that of 2" adapters that Im using on my '92 Camaro with C6 wheels have held up well but dont remember if they are hub centric. Guess I can go pull a wheel.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Mine were not hubcentric but the inside of the adapter was snug on the hub. If you really think about it, a lot of wheels with the two bolt patterns have an opening much bigger than the hub diameter and rely on the lugs to be center. As long as the wheel uses acorn lug nuts, the wheel should be centric. With that being said, im a over achiever and use hubcentric wheels and adapters when I can.

The truck in the pic with the 15"s on the first page doesn't look quite that low. My old 79 was 5/6" and the front looks lower. It was running a 255/60/15 and the edges were past the fender lips.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

It does look a little higher, may be the angle. Im using 2.5 drop spindles, 2.5 springs that were cut about half a coil, flip kit and 2 inch shackles. heres a little better pic.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Schoolboy, did the normal 1/2x20 lug nuts work with those wheels. I'm assuming any acorn lug nut works but I'd like to know for sure.

Thanks

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Got my camaro rims bolted up! I think I need to drop it down some more. I have a 2" drop hanger, 2" shackle and lower shocks on the rear and the fender lip sits about 3 1/2" higher than top off tires. I have also installed new leaf springs. How much more do you guys think a axle flip will drop it? What do you guys think about removing the helper spring and how much would that drop it? I would like the fender lip to sit even to 1" lower than tires. http://imgur.com/odMx0fG

I've ordered 1.5" adapters, but was recently informed that they won't work for the front. We will see I guess. I may be ordering another set.

I got the 1.5" because i wanted to make sure that they cleared the fenders when I go lower.

I believe that a flip kit will drop it 5" more.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

I think what looks odd about them (I do like the wheels...not knocking them at all here...) is that these lowered squares IMO look aggressive with a more negative offset. That wheel style looks good on the truck but would be a lot better if the hubs were tucked in more.

Re: 2010 Camaro Wheels on Lowered C10

Thanks, Pop's! How are you getting the pics to show up? Gmachinz I hear ya, to each his own, I think they match the body line very well. It would be nice if this style rim was made with a truck offset so we could compare.
