That dolly is working great.... You are right with that saying... hopefully I can have it to a point worthy of a picture... Yesterday was just a bad day trying to get anything accomplished on it...

Thanks a ton... I NEED some of those casters like you have on this dolly... Those are awesome...

Have a GROOVY day...

Man you are making some serious progress. I love the green color. Was gonna paint my 68 (Homer) this same color with a white top, but talked myself out of it. Seeing your truck I am not certain I made the right decision. Like the (factory original) color I chose but really like the color on yours. Maybe better

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Ok... Mike said "If there's no pictures, it didn't happen!"... LOL... Well here is the pic... This dayam thing is really pi----g me off... We can't seem to get this thing straight... I can tell you if I could start over, I would just go get a set of Aftermarket Bedsides and Tailgate...

I think we are on the down hill side of this Bed... This is the last thing that needs painted and it really needs to be completed this weekend so I can bring the 67 Home From Chris Carlson's Hot Rods next week...

We are hoping to have it ready for the little car show in Atlanta, Kansas Labor Day weekend and the end of September the Last Rod Run in Arkansas City, Ks... We will see how it goes...

Thanks For tagging along on this build...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Ok... We took the afternoon off from working today and I think we have the bed ready for the final primer... I will finish the Tailgate in the Morning so tomorrow night when we get home from work we can shoot the primer... Friday after we get home from work we will start the final block sanding on the parts to have it ready for color on Saturday... If all goes well Sunday it should be ready to put back on the truck...

Here is a pic as of tonight... It really doesn't look alot different than it did Sunday...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Thanks Mike... yep I will If I can find enough people to help me set the bed on... once that is on then it is all the little things to get buttoned up... I still have to get the grill brackets painted and installed, Headlight doors painted, Door panel strips painted... You know all that annoying little crap... LOL

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Here we go... I think we are starting to win on this... We did alot of final stuff on the bed tonight... Shot it with Primer and it looks really good... Tomorrow night we are going to do the final blocking with 400 then 600 then 1000... if everything goes as planned color will be on it along with the clear coat by Noon on Saturday... I think I have found enough guys on Sunday to help me load the bed back on the truck... so Sunday Afternoon We will color sand it and polish it...

Here is the pic of it as it sits tonight...

You have done a tremendous amount of work on that bed to make it right and it's a job well done.

Thanks Buddy... I always like to try and save3 original Sheet Metal when I can... I think looking back in this one though I should have just said it isn't going to work but we made it happen...

I am at the point now though I just want to get this truck done so I can just enjoy driving it and move on to other things...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

It is always worth it, you saved it and you did it right and in a world where people will always take the easy way instead of the right way you can feel good about your accomplishment and that's what matters.

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Update for 8-28-15... We had a full day at work today so we didn't even get to start on the bed until about 7:00... after blocking it down it looks really good... we only have a few very little issues to address before we can go to paint... So about a hour or so in the morning should have us where we need to be then the color starts flowing... I do have a work related appointment at 12;30 and a Grandsons BD party at 2 tomorrow so it has to be completed by no later than 11... so it will be a very early morning... cup of Java and to the Garage I will go hopefully by about 5...

Here are just a couple teaser pics... I have also included a rendering of what the final truck will look like...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

Here we are Sunday morning 8-20-15 at 10:00AM... I waited until my neighbors got up so I wouldn't upset them anymore than what they already are...

This it the First color of basecoat... I am waiting for it to flash out so we can get the second color on it... this should all be completed by around noon today...

Re: Project "Haulin' "

it was now 12:30 on Sunday 8-30-15... The bed is completed... Paint is on and it has been Clear coated... Now all I have left is to cut and polish, install the moldings, set the bed back on the truck get the bed liner shot in it and the Bed Cover on it... once that is done then we drive it until I get through the winter then we will get the A/C done...

I know these pictures do not do the color any favors...

Thanks for following along...
