Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Well seeing how much I'm just talking to myself here I will continue on with my insanity
Today I worked on the calipers I snagged from the yard and installed them and did a little bit of a rustolium restoration to some suspension parts at the same time Hood alignment and core support all squared away One brake bleeder didnt give up without a fight Busted out my trusty Mastercraft 6.5 horse grinder for this job Slides all cleaned not earned without one trying to fly at me however Before installation of the caliper

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Added 12 HP with this color
rear rotor mounting brackets All painted and done "don't mind the rusty rotor I gauged it and it should be fine for use on the street to save a bit of coin for my wedding due date Got bored watching paint dry so I found something shinny what do you guys make of the gap at the top? Seems like quite a bit to me fenders have been "repaired" at the top face before so that could be the problem All in all a productive afternoon

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Nice finds at the salvage yard. I don't know of any around here anymore that we can walk through.
My guess is the fender has had some repair. Is that area full of filler? |

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Calipers look good.
Not sure about the top of the eye brow on the fender. If it's a repro trim ring it may be out of shape. Kim |

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
I was told "we all know what that means" that they were originals and yes there is filler on the upper face but when I feel around on the backside there is nothing on the back and I didn't notice any signs of welding or rust through weird...
oh well a mystery for another day when its a little warmer for now we will keep on trucking on these little projects so I can keep my sanity

Nice progress. Bleeder may have come out with a fight but at least it came out.

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Not much to report picked up the crank today today before work they took A LOT of weight out which makes me very happy she should wrap up a lot better now. Engine assembly will comence next weekend.
Yesterday we got the ugly seat out to make some more work space/clean things up as I will be getting my seat soon from a friends wrecking yard soon then we just installed then headlight buckets as I didn't have anything better to do while waiting. Today we drove north to my fiancés grandparents for Easter and hit a deer on the way damage is light but enough of a setback to be annoying... Damage includes left fender, Bumper, Left fender liner, left headlight, hood and a headlight mounting bracket as well as an alignment.. But the main thing is everyone is alright and the car got us there safe

I hope the deer is in your freezer, after all you tenderized it. She has dimples, she is a keeper

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Thanks for the sympathy on the deer she was crying because of the deer not the car that's a girl thing I guess
And as far as the dimples go Nut Case I believe they are at least half the reason she is being kept around most of the time

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Update: Just ordered a dial indicator for crank/trans end play measurement I figured it was time to stop mooching off my techs at work. also got my bearings coming for the crank at .020 with some body mounts and hood bumpers.
No real work on the truck yet been raining almost every day in the afternoon and today I was rewarded with a check engine light by my daily driver so I spent the evening diagnosing that and ended that with more questions then answers thats how things seem to work sometimes

Re: Project Orange Crush (57 3100)
Today is the start of my weekend long engine build I spent a few hours cleaning the garage and getting a decent work space available we have a severe lack of counter space to say the least.
But once that was over with some decent progress was made first I had to move this hunk of junk out of the way That's better Operating room prepped The patient is ready doctor "snaps glove" Installed core/oil plugs cant believe it took me this long to think of doing this to install them
