Re: Lets see your garage

I have a 2 car garage and a 3 car garage and I'm lucky if I can get one car into either of them. I'd be embarrassed to post pictures. I have a pool table in the 3 car. I haven't even seen it in 2 years.

Talking Re: Lets see your garage

I cleaned up my garage yesterday. I filled my daughters S 10 bed up full of junk and trash to haul off today. I have room to walk all the way around both vehicles again.
Now I can start over collecting more crap.

I did find some things I had been searching for though for my daughter's 68 step side we are building.

If I had a shop the size of some here I would just be in heaven!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Lets see your garage

Yeah, there are garages and there are shops. I have had neither for a while now. Used to Rent a barn for a shop for many years, but the place got sold. I have no good place to locate anything decent here, so been waiting till the next place. But I couldn't take it any more. I had metal roofing, some posts, and all the rafter material to at least put up a carport for one truck, with very little material to buy. I threw up a 12' structure to put a truck under. I finished out the front to take a 7'H x 9'W door and closed in the side facing my back yard (and facing the NW wind). I might just leave the rest open. It's kind of nice having the sun come in. The lower winter afternoon sun beams right in there. It will be far nicer than out in the open as is.

New laptop, no pictures yet.

Re: Lets see your garage

I noticed this thread popped back up. I also noticed I had the following wish list

Two down, whats next?

1) a new house with a polebarn
2) 68-72 Nova
3) 67 Malibu
4) Win Lottery
5) 41 Willeys, largest tires, largest motor, largest blower

Well Number 2 happened. Check these out

Re: Lets see your garage

Nice shops and rides everyone. Here is mine. 30x40 built back in 2015 and sad to say, still not totally done. It gets to a certain point and working IN the shop takes precedent over working ON the shop.
Little blue car is for sale so I will open up some floor space when it is gone.

Re: Lets see your garage

Here's my tiny 17x20 I think I win so far for smallest space besides those without a space at all! It ain't much but its heated and I can work in a comfy 70 degree garage when its 0 outside so I will take it. Many of my hand tools are laid out on the bench currently awaiting a new toolbox after selling my other one due to being out of space.

I have a miter station with a bunch of built in storage below to the left in the first picture as well. I had set up the space for woodworking until I got the 63 now its just a cluttered mess until I find some time to get it organized again.

Might be hard to believe but my shop still looks the same as it did back in 2017..... And still the same stuff except now when you open the door all you see is the back of a '34 Ford Coupe (I sold the 4x4)....

It's good to see it happening. I like the masonry stem wall. That lets you wash out the floor if you want.

Re: Lets see your garage

Yep, spills and in SC we have red clay. If it rains hard enough, even with a good stand of grass, the bottom of your siding can get stained red/orange.

I actually wish I had gone up one more row.

My house/attached garage have a brick crawl space/stem wall.

Re: Lets see your garage

Nice to have that rear door. That'll be handy. I hate that dirt splash on new construction. A weird peeve of mine. I spread straw. You just need to get something growing there. and nice shop!

Hey Wun Ton, you're not far from me. Might be small but beats a blank. Gotta do what you can. I'm jealous of these huge shops, but honestly, I don't want so much open air. I'll have a high spot for a lift, but the rest of the ceiling with be only as high as it needs to be. I also hope my next place will have room for a parking garage and a work shop. I also want a machine shed for the junk and a storage building. I have a plan for the next place!

I just built something smaller and am very excited to have it. Only 12'w x 20' deep. Just enough to tuck my K2500 under there. I wanted bigger but decided on this to at least have something, I won't be here long enough to build a shop, and the small building will add value to the buyer. Sometimes the huge shop/small house is a negative. Not for me, but the general market. You can overbuild a property. I built this thing to compliment the vibe of the old house the same as Jesse built his to go with his house, and suits the neighborhood better.

This is the only picture I have until I can figure out how to get pictures onto my new computer. It was going to be "at least a carport". But so far I have finished the front out for a 9' wide door and finished out a wall with windows facing my yard (and the wind). I completed this side, trimmed, and painted it. That's all till next year. The open side gets the afternoon sun.

That was planned from the start, I don't want to play musical cars if I don't have to and my existing garage is orientated the same way and gets an awesome pull through breeze if the front and rear doors are open. The other side of the back wall will be the staircase to the storage area.

Funny you should mention resale... my neighbor across the street has their house up for sale. They only bought it 3 years ago and I think they paid top dollar for it. Will be interesting to see how quickly it sells with my huge mess right across the street. Homes in my immediate area are selling in days/weeks still (top school district helps).

I wouldn't call that a mess Jesse. If I saw that going up across from a place I was looking at. It would be a selling point. Just think of all the tools that I could borrow.

I know what you mean about musical cars. I'm down to 8 vehicles at the moment. And it's a pain when you want to get the last in line out (which is my motorhome) We took it out last weekend and I had to move all of the others out to the street. My wife said it looked like we were having a party.

Then I had to put them all back. It took me about an hour, but that includes having a beer and shooting the breeze with my neighbor.
