Receipts..huh
Thats why I decided not to keep up with the cost of my IH build...I would probably have a meltdown if I knew how much I've spent...

Re: Moms wedding present 49 chevy 5 window LS 4L60e TCI frame

Thanks Mongo, yea that's probably the smartest thing bit I need to figure ot how much to insure it for. Do I insure it for how much I spent and then some, or how much I think its worth?

I think the test is this: if you go out to the garage and the truck is simply gone or has been hammered by a meteor and is nothing but rubble, after you get done wailing and crying, how much do you need to replace it?

I used a stated value of $30k for mine and with the TCI chassis, LS swap, all the damn parts I bought, and a few outside services (rebuild trans, upholster seat, build an exhaust, install glass, sand blast and powder coat, etc. I can't replace it for that so need to get with it and increase it. Probably more like $40, not that it makes any sense to spend that much, just what it'll cost to replace.

Grundy. Same agreed value of $30k. $255/year

Insured for the parts and paid labor I have in it.

Will adjust it once I get it on the road

Re: Moms wedding present 49 chevy 5 window LS 4L60e TCI frame

Got the Dakota rtx calibrated. The shop did it, but for some reason it was pretty far off. Honestly it was pretty simple to reset 3 buttons. Didn't go through all the things this set up could do but one day I will.

Re: Moms wedding present 49 chevy 5 window LS 4L60e TCI frame

Clean ride zippi.
Update
With Grundy, they told me I could drive it down to Az if I was to go to Dino's which I didnt with no extra fee. Supposedly they dont check mileage. They just dont want you to drive it daily, which mine will never be anyway.

nice! looks great!

I like the RTX gauges and the real high point for me is that they are compatible with the DD OBDII interface (which all my trucks have intact) so almost all the gauges are available through that!

Re: Moms wedding present 49 chevy 5 window LS 4L60e TCI frame

Every time I take this thing for a drive I smile especially when it goes sideways at 30 when I hit the gas cause there's a small spot in the cable that's kinked or a dead spot either way it's fun, do need to get it sorted out.

I have a 6.0 2500HD and it has that same spot I think, its DBW though so its the pedal itself. I always tap it to get through the spot haha.

truck looks amazing!

Re: Moms wedding present 49 chevy 5 window LS 4L60e TCI frame

Thank you Jan, I love it too, I do wish it was about a 1.5 lower then it would drag the frame when parked, and to add to that my dad wished it was about 2in taller. I dont think they make bags that would have worked for that application. Or at least I didnt see that option.

Joe I think mine is that too, he had to fab up the pedal assembly. I bought the older motor cause I thought this would mean I wouldnt have drive by wire, but then he said he had to do a new assembly so I am not sure.

This is the best pic I think I took yesterday.
