One brown seat finally showed up! And the other is scheduled to deliver tomorrow!
I found some universal sliders locally for cheap, so now I just have to make some brackets to bolt these into the cab. |

Look great thus far, if you get a chance, can you measure the distance in red (seat back to where the steering wheel bolts on)? I put FCF lowered seat brackets on mine but I feel like I am driving a go cart as I am so close to the steering wheel (I have an aftermarket smaller steering wheel as well). Also, is the circle the bolt hole for the seatbelt...if so, it looks like the seatbelt would lay across the seat pretty nicely. You have my wheels spinning as I have been looking for a cheap bucket seat alternative to create some space and so I can have a console. Side note, LMC has repro consoles for $100 if you did not want to build your own. Thanks.

Darn. Seat bracket arrived today, but it was damaged in shipping and the customer service rep at Corbeau had bad information when he said it was 6 inches tall (it is actually almost 8 inches tall). Summit will refund my money, and they said I can keep the dumb thing if FedEx doesn't come to pick it up within 10 business days.

Oh look! More parts! These Tuff Country EZRide 3" rear springs will replace the falling apart stock springs and blocks. And the plan is to put this winch between the frame and build a front bumper to go with it.

So I ended up having to use an air cutoff wheel and reciprocating saw (4 blades) to get the shackle off the old leaf spring. And the "easy" trick of using a drill bit (2 broken bits) did not work for removing the bushing. I'm done with it. New shackles ordered from Rock Auto.

Spring shackles arrived today so I put the new driver side spring in. I noticed the springs were slightly longer on one end, so I called Tuff Country to make sure I put them in correctly. That turned out to be a mistake. They told me to put them in wrong, and the wheel ended up way too far forward. I compared to the old spring which I should have done in the first place, and found that the spring was definitely in backwards. So I took it all apart and put it back in correctly. Happy with the wheel placement now, but I really do not like to do things twice. I'm surprised the ride height is a little lower than the old springs and blocks, but I like it as long as it doesn't settle too much lower.
Another disappointment from Tuff Country is the ubolts which are too long. The same customer service rep gave me the part number. I guess I can cut them down, but I bought new thinking it would save time and be the exact right part. |

The seat bracket is not bolted to the floor, but the seats and sliders are attached to the bracket. I think I would like it better if the bracket were an inch lower, but this will work for now.

Both rear wheel cylinders are replaced. The wheel studs were all bent inwards so I replaced those. Front brakes are gravity bled, I just need to bleed the rear. I am looking forward to having brakes that work good.

SoCoC10 has a winch and bumper that would bolt onto the truck and look great imo. He’s in CO but maybe you could work out a deal. Vintage rear step bumper would look great.

I sold a couple of NOS in the box warn winch bumpers last year and still have a used one and a few belleview winches if you are interested..they look pretty cool on these trucks

That Warn bumper does look good on there. It's even on the right color truck!
I still think I am going to spend the money on some custom work. I can get the winch tucked between the frame a little better and not have it stick out so far in the front. Plus I can have a back bumper to match. |
