46, still learn something new every day. Slowly building a big block 72 4x4. Kids, work, life in general seem to get in the way!

67 years of excellence. Got my first chevy truck 34 years ago., a 66. Got a 72 C10 new and had a 69 C10 stepside, a 71 C10 burb 4x4, and a 68 C20. Spent 20 years in subs, 19 years in business in Vermont, now living in exile in Florida. Hope to fix up 5 or 6 more trucks.

33 years and starting to feel it when I get up in the mornings.
I have been working on engines since I was a little kid(motorcycles at seven) spent a few years as a boat mechanic , then ended up being a service manager for a national company but decided to step back down to a service tech after a few years. I just got tired of being a baby sitter for supposed adults.

I'm 31, I teach high school World Geography, and have been working on my 71 SWB for about 20 months now. I had no previous auto experience, and thanks to a good friend whose had TONS, I've been able to learn a LOT about what actually makes a vehicle run down the road. Makes me happy to see all these younger guys wanting to work towards something. I see so many apathetic students, I'm glad there are some out there with goals to do something they enjoy!

I'm 43 and work as a firefighter. I also do custom cabinets on my days off, as well as run kids up and down the highway. I bought my first truck at 14, and have been building and restoring since then.

Im a wood/auto teacher in glencoe MN, and have been working on vehicles since ive been about 15. i bought my 70 k10 swb in 2000, but i have known and worked on the truck since high school. At first when i got out of grad school i wanted to buy a 68-72 vette as a reward for graduating, then i bought the 70 and now have a 63 and 74 c10s too... and i still dont have the vette??? My students think im nuts, and i tell them "unstable" is the correct word to use... ive been hangin round this board for bout 3 years and i learn something new everyday!!!-

Getting There !!

I was born in 1949, will be 55 in May 2004. I still feel like I'm 25 and still learning. As for mechanical ability I have a limited amount . I can do minor stuff oil changes, plugs and swap alternators fuel pumps etc. but leave the big jobs to the pros. Looking at the age category graph it is sure nice to see all the younger folks still interested in the hobby.

I will be 31 in January. CHEVY PUNK is my son. I fix cars for a living and have been to college for it. I have an asociates degree from a local tech college as well as 1 year in high school. did 4 yrs in the Navy. Worked on what you submarine guys call the biggest target of all; a nuclear powered aircraft carrier. I was the guy with the wands telling all the pilots "were to go"! lol. GOOD TIMES. I met my wife inderectly in the navy and have been maried now for about 7 yrs. We have 4 children (yes we figgured out what causes that!). I am curently the manager of "a well known exhaust and muffler shop" we are doing more work here then just mufflers and brakes though and I specialize in computer diagnosis. I love this web site and am so thankful that my 15 year boy is in to these old trucks and not into ... well other stuff. Everyone that has helped Levi (chevy punk) has been so kind, thank you. I hope to see some day that he "learned about cars from his old man" on this post.

I'm 47. Got my 70 back in 1980. I wrenched for 19 years (ASE Master) got tired of working on everyones problems. Went to work for Snap-on tools as a field support specalist. Position was just eliminated nation wide. Looking for a new career that does not involve weekends and 60 to 70 hour weeks like the last 6 years.

Just turned 37 today. I've been a heavy duty truck mechanic since 1984. I am currently shop foreman at a top notch truck leasing company for 11 years. Learned how to work on trucks the hard way.

I can't believe that I'm 34 already. I've only had my truck for just over
a year - I should've gotten one a long time ago. My dad got rid of our
'69 when I was 16, just before I was allowed to drive. It was unsafe to
drive, though, and past being restored. The 250 engine and hood, I remember
went to a friend of ours who used it for quite awhile in his 67-72.
But, it has taken me 18 years to get one of these trucks.
So, correct me if I'm wrong, but in truck years,
I'm around 16-18 years old.

Re: age catagory of board members

I somehow stumbled across this old thread. The last post was over 10 years ago. I thought it would be cool to resurrect it👍 I am now 45 years old and have owned these trucks on and off since I was 21 years old. I am curios if the poll will change after 10 years.
