Re: Show Your Mug - Family Time

My son sent me this picture today in a text message. The text said “big hippie”
My first wife, my son and me.
Circa 1991.
I played in some rock bands back in the late 80s and early 90s.

I’m pretty sure my customers were worried when they saw me pull up in their drive way to lay their carpet. Back then most my work was in K.C.

Nah, hard working long haired boys is as American as apple pie. I had cut my hair to relatively shorter (shoulder length) in '76, and it slowly got shorter. I grew it back to wearing a ponytail or braid at about the same time as your picture. I remember it was long in '92 when my youngest was born. I was high rolling in my business at that time and my choice in appearance affect nothing. I eventually cut it because it seemed silly that it was always pulled back to stay out of my way, and if it wasn't braided it got all snarled up when riding the bike. I'd rather have shorter hair than be bald from ripping through the snarled up mess. Then, my life-long friend who kept his long pony tail since our teens, a fellow carpenter who moved to CA then OR, was diagnosed with lung cancer and was gone in a month in '12. It really impacted me and I skipped cutting my hair a while. Next thing I knew I decided to let it grow long again to honor my soul buddy. Peter Sutton was the best kind. No one could ever say one bad thing about that man. He had good nature from his head to his toes. Gone way too soon

That's my brother in law from Idaho, my 2yr down sister's guy. '14

It looks like Chevrolet was trying to say she couldn't park the thing.
