Sorry I haven't gotten back to you until now, haven't had a chance to check the forum since this morning and thanks Rus for answering the question for me. I thought you were talking about the upper bag mounts too. If your talking about the notch cover, they can be made out of anything, wood, metal etc. heck I have even seen a beer keg as a notch cover. On mine I plan on just raising the entire bed floor to cover the notch.

Thanks Nate, definitely was the right choice to switch to the Porterbuilt parts. I'm really excited about the rendering too.

Yes sir that is it, or you can raise the entire bed floor to cover the notch.

I like the rendering. The truck will be sick if you built it like that.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

Well guys I hate to do this but im selling my Intros. I know I know, after I bought them I said I wouldn't be changing wheels again but I didn't expect the wife and I to be looking at purchasing a house this soon, but its a buyers market and I need a garage and workspace of my own. I'm tired of driving 60 miles round trip to my brothers house to work on my truck. It is more important to me to get this truck done then to have a set of billet wheels at this time. I want to finish this truck, so it just makes more sense to spread the money out across a bunch of parts then just wheels.

I'm keeping the Porterbuilt dropmembers cause they are also more important to me then billet wheels and I want the low ride height with the added ground clearance and rack and pinion steering. I also want to run accuair which is pricey but worth it and again worth it more then the wheels. So i'm going to go back to a set of cheaper wheels but still going to be 20's. I'm up in the air about what to run, I like the Showwheel Streeter and also those new Detriot Steel Steelies but are concerned with the weight of them. I also still love Coys but hate their customer service so I don't know if I feel like dealing with them.

How about Ridler 695's? They're not so bad on price, and come in a bunch of different finishes. Sorry to hear you have to switch again, but I'm sure you'll love the shop space!

I looked into the Ridlers but they don't have the correct backspacing for me for the front wheels. They only offer 4.75" bs on the 20x8.5's and I need at least 5.25".

I would be all over them if I hadn't spent the money to paint my cab and staring down the barrel of $15,000 worth of shingles for my house and garages..

I really don't want to sell these but feel it needs to be done, i listed them yesterday and then deleted the listing cause i got cold feet I'm not going to give them away either, If nobody wants to give me the $2500 for them then I'll just keep them. We will see what happens.

I feel you, maybe nobody will want them and I'll end up keeping them and figure something else out. Maybe I'm just getting a little premature and panicking about all the work my truck still needs to be done. I'm very impatient also.

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB

I got cold feet again and took the forsale thread down for the Intros. I really don't feel comfortable selling these wheels. I went back through my thread and re-read all the impulse decisions I have made and don't want to make another and regret it. My wife reminded me that I sold 2 sets of wheels already to get these Intros for a reason, so just keep them and don't worry about it. She said, so what if your truck takes a little longer because you could have used that money towards other things. Sometimes I am way to impatient and need to just relax. All I want is for the truck to be done and cruising the streets but I have to remind myself that it will get there.
