Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Here are some close up shots of what it takes to do this. I had to cut up the cowl area that water would flow out to make room for the fresh air intake. As I understand it, aftermarket kits don't have any fresh air capability which makes it harder to defrost/fog.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
I also cut out a lot of the new unit plenum, which I will have to make a new one and attach my vent hoses. About 1 inch of side space shown through the vent hole and top of unit jammed into the bottom of the cowl I left intact. The last pic is my foot flat on the floor tucked up behind the unit like you are able to do in a new truck.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
It's coming, it's coming.
Tonight I quickly made a sheet-metal plenum that I will cut holes in and feed my supply tubes into. I welded it together and seam sealed the corners. The plenum sits on top of the new unit. I wish I could get a picture of the super tight bundle of snakes. You just have to be here to see.

My new best friend John came back today to try and finish up some body work.
Alfredo my house painter is interested in learning, so he was hanging out too.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
The last of the fenders and doors are ready for a final primer sealer.
The roof is getting closer. The drivers side is virtually done, passenger needs a little more love.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
Another day, another bit of progress.
I scavenged these rear control arm brackets off of one of the Yukons that had rear leveling. They are designed to clamp to the upper control arm. Perfect, just what I need for the front leveling sensors. I put them in the vise and modified them to work for my application and now am finished with the front sensors. I ran the wires to the rear and installed my exhaust for the last time. I also plugged up everything at the transmission and had an entire harness left dedicated to the transfer case that was completely separate all the way to the fuse box. I unplugged it there and tossed it.

Wow, Drew! You must have a mind like a steel trap. I'd have gotten so confused by now. Keep it up. You're really showing us all the true meaning of posibilities.

Re: ** YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN ** The truck Chevrolet should have built.
This was funny: Friends in the neighborhood were walking by and stopped to talk, we ended up in the garage to see the progress. They were looking at the cab, discussing what a pretty color it was, and then turned around to see the engine, trans, frame etc. and said "now whats this". I forget sometimes that I'm not normal. Normal people don't even think about what is under the body that they can't see. I gently explained that this was the part to make it go. They said "oh".
