You found a very nice truck and I think everything is right on it. I think that for the time( Late 60's) that is a very well optioned/equipped truck. P/S P/B and A/C were not ordered on a lot of trucks in 1968. I wonder if the original owner special ordered the truck or a real savvy dealer ordered it as stock inventory. I was in the car busines for 25 years and never had trouble selling loaded vehicles, the cheaper plain janes were always harder to sell.

The word that I got (since I am only the 3rd owner) is that the original owner special ordered it that way back in '68 to pull his 5th wheel trailer with. And I was told that it still has the original seat & seat cover on it. It has one special order option that I am having hell trying to find & that is the black rearview mirror bracket arm, GM part# 3940865. See pic.

Post that pic on the main 67-72 thread asking about it and I 'm certain someone on the forum will know. I'd use What is This as a thread title.

Thanks, But not to sound like an ass, I know what it is, I have part of that bracket. It's just finding a replacement is a ***** because it was a special order option on the 68' models & not too many of them are around anymore. Someone broke off the arm but the main bracket was still screwed to the inside roof of the truck. That's how I got the part number & did the Google research by the part number, that's where I found the pic of it. I just wish I could find another one like it. It cost $$ on here to become a member for me to be able to post a WTB in the parts section ad. It's like trying to find the fountain of youth... Thanks again.

Nice truck. I see the color as VER/OFF-WHITE on the SPID. What does VER short for? I like that color.

I think private messages can only be sent & received if your on the friend or contact list. Or you have to check the box that says "(Send message to users even if they are not on your contact list.)"

Yep, I was told it was paint code# 515 Vermillion. Now I'm just trying to find out what part was actually painted Off-White from the factory so when it's time to repaint it, I'll try to get it painted the same way it came from the factory. Cool beans!

Re: Post pics of your Longbed Trucks!! No short stuffs allowed!!

Over the last week I finished assembling this

And finally got it bolted in here

So I figured I might as well hose the dirt & grime off the original paint. Pretty happy with the results.
