Yea they look really sweet. Haha I would think spark plugs would do it but if that's not how it's done, I know there's a way. And I'll have mine faced more out to the side instead of angled at the ground.

Gotcha. It is an igniter kinda like the ones used on a bbq pit. They have the kits for sale on the web, of course they aren't street legal but who would know if ya had em? I like the flame idea, here is a link and they are $150 for dual exhaust.

Wow! I have been through this thread from beginning to end. This is a very inspiring build for me and my 72 LWB factory orange C10. Unfortunately, my stage of progress is like yours was back in 08....some day it will get done.

Good Luck with further progress! Your truck is sweet.

Looks are deceiving! I can't keep it running for some unknown reason, my airride is still not wired completely and the interior is not done. You may still beat me!

Thank you Seventy Two!! These are the kind of comments that I love to see! Keep on track, spend lots of money, focus on the final outcome. This being my first project it was hard to keep in mind "do it right the first time" luckily I had freinds to keep me straight. It seems so far away now, but halfway through it really gives ya that boost! We would all love to see your progress, start a buildthread to keep us informed of how your build is going and watch the number of views grow daily. This is a little incentive and keeps you going when you need it most!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

Thanks for the support. Dealing with rockers, cab corners, etc is getting old. I have been taking many pictures as I go, with the idea that I would start the thread later. But maybe some continued encouragement wouldn't hurt. My initial thought was that I would have the cab done this winter... But with 5 kids and a wife and one on the way...that may not happen. Camping season is just around the next snow bank, lol.
I sure enjoy buying new tools though. Having the cab on a rotisserie is a definate bonus. And I have not yet tried out my new stud welder (pulling dents). Its all fun right!

We would love to see all this happening! Buying tools is one of the cool things about the build, it was always a fun time for me too. As for the 5 yunguns and one on the way it sounds like you'll have your own pitcrew before long! I am the last of 6 myself, but have none of my own. Let's see some of your progress and tools so far, start that thread!!!

Re: 1967 C10 Custom Big Window

I have some bad news on my project guys and gals. Slick67 is going to be alot longer of a project than I had anticipated and don't know if I am willing to see it through to the end. After getting the engine tuned almost perfectly this evening Ronnie and I saw oil dripping. After some inspection we thought it was loose bolts on the timing cover but it wasn't. There is a crack in the block of the 327 that I waited a year for. With a little luck the shop that built it for me will accept responsibility and get me a new block and rebuild it with my parts. If not then Slick67 may be no more. It is all up to the shops decision tomorrow when I talk to them. If they are going to step up to the plate then I will continue my UN-build thread and start updating as I did before. On the other hand I can do a few things to it that I wanted to the first time around.
This sux.

Man, I am so sorry to hear that!!!

I hope the shop steps up and does what's right. If not I would let them know I would be posting on this forum, craigslist, and everywhere else you can think of their info so no one else ever goes there....

And...if you decide to not see it through...before you tear it down have you consider contacting the guy who made you the nice offer on it and see if they'd be interested still?

I have already looked to make sure his number is in my phone, it is. I just don't see getting what I have in it with everything as is. I may have to put it on blocks and step away for awhile. Don't think Ronnie would be too happy about it being in the way for a long time. On the flip side it may not take too long and I'll be back at this point in a month or two. I'm prayin.

Sorry to hear David! The shop should step up to the plate. Any reputable shop would have hot tanked, and magnafluxed the block before starting the build.

Keep me in the loop bro.

It does suck. He's reputable but has to outsource these services which I didn't know at the time. I'll keep ya in the loop on the latest.

Breaks my heart dude. Don't give in, I'm sure you could drop in another engine, maybe a 350? But hopefully the shop will do the right thing!!!!
