Nope, still a ways to go before it's finished. We're hoping there will be enough time and money to keep it going. Things have tightened up for a lot of people.

So Nate what are your thoughts on doing a C4 rear with "out-board" mounted bags for a lower floor in say a Blazer or a Burb? Also would it handle the weight if a Burb guy was to go this route?

Oh and I have a big back window section for that 63 if you want to do some swapping

I don't know about the weight capability, but I would expect to see an "under floor" style back-half coming down the pipeline shortly...

"Under floor" means under the rails, i.e; no Shockwave canti- and shortly is entirely up to Nate's schedule

This project has been on hold for quite some time due to the economic down turn. Good news is that the customer has saved some dough to get rolling on it again. We just need to find some way to make the week 3 days longer so I can squeeze it back in!

I am glad there is hope for me because that is what my welds look like. lol ... granted I have a 110 volt stick welder with about 2 hrs using it but I am planning on buying a miller soon. (-: I looked at the pic and my first reaction was atleast I am not the only one that sucks at welding.

A good machine and lots of practice is what it takes! I purchased my first welder 9 years ago. It was a Miller 210, and we still use it every day for production wedling. My dad showed me the ropes, and then it was practice, practice, practice from there. I figured out a few things along the way (miles and miles of wire burnt). With enough practice you can get really good.

I am just glad this thread is still alive! My 16 year old son got a '72 Cheyenne LB as a gift.....and one of the first things he thought of was to put a C4 IRS in the rear. Hello!!!!!!!!!! At first I was stunned......but then my ears perked up like a......well you know.
And here it is - you are doing it! I have a ton of questions - more on the tech side that I know you're too busy for - but maybe someday you can come back and address them.
First tho - thank you for being one of the few to reach out and make new stuff happen. Some visualize - others start cutting knowing they can make a positive result from it.
Early in the thread you said it would be easier for you to cut the frame than to make brackets work with the existing frame. I'd love to know what told that story? Prefit? How did you know?
I doubt yours is like most others who'd not take on the C4 IRS conversion with the cantilever bags. In our case - we just want to use the mono leaf with the shocks (basically leave the C4 rearend stock) so the questions come up about whether there is a need for C notching and the need for 4 link extensions in order for it to function properly?
Im just wondering - considering that the rear of this truck is already down 5 inches (coil springs) whether it would be necessary to C notch or not?
Do you find the midpoint of the suspension travel (under truck weight) for determining the IRS mount bracket height? What determines the ideal mount points for the stock 4 link rods? Like - where do they WANT to be? Lots more questions but dont want to wear out my welcome. Stuff like the rearend ratio in these rearends are way highway!!!!! What is the work around to that?
