Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
There's just something special about that factory green paint. Especially when accented in white with the wood trim. Overlooked and maybe criticized, but yet defining of that era. A very reminiscent color

Here's a couple of mine. I've posted them on other threads but since you are asking for green....

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Jocko - The glove box just lists the paint as Olive. The truck has been repainted once and judging by the interior, which is original, it is a really good match. Thanks for the compliment. The paint is really not that great of a job, but it looks good in pictures and I get a lot of compliments on it. It will need a re-paint in a year or two.

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
My 70 C10 402bb. Factory PS, PB, AC, tach, gauges. Haven't had it long, don't even have good pics yet! Still trying to figure out what the original paint might have been. Was definitely medium olive with white cab, but not sure if that white stripe on the side would have been there. Also, the black trim seems to be very poorly painted by hand and is way too glossy. Same on the grille. I'd love to know...
Current project is interior strip, clean, lizardskin. |

The black on the grill/trim was a very low gloss satin black.

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Pretty much what I expected. 534 is a Conventional Two-Tone of a 504 med olive green and a 521 white roof. The 400 series Deluxe Two-Tone (white between the bodyside moldings) came along in 71 but was backfitted to a number of trucks.
Of course there is also the correct for your year 588 Special Two-Tone that had a white roof and white below the lower bodyside molding with a medium olive body color. This was often seen on Suburbans like mine here (31 years ago!).

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Thanks so much! So green everywhere except roof? Pretty happy to hear that, it's one of my favorites. What about it having both upper and lower trim moulding? It's a Z84 sport truck with 600 black vinyl trim if that makes any difference (has a black rather than olive glove box door).

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Yes a white roof/upper cab and medium olive everywhere else.
The upper bodyside molding was optional on your truck IIRC. At this point it might be easiest to post up the SPID. Either here or over on the specific SPID threads we have running linked below. Post Your Pickup SPID Blazer SPID Suburban/Panel SPID

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Here is one I owned for 2 weeks! I bought itin Illinois while visiting my folks for thanksgiving. Got bored and got on Craigslist and found her. Wife thought I was crazy to drive an unknown truck 1200 miles back to Houston the next day. I made it home no problem and after turning into my driveway from the long trip a guy pulls in right behind me and states he is going to buy that truck!
Shot him a price that made me some money and darned if he didn't bite on it. I regret selling it that fast as I didn't really get to have any fun with it.

Re: Olive Green truck Picture's
Not to mention, it has an aftermarket Clardy Customatic A/C under the dash, that supposedly was bought in 1971...does anyone know anything about these units? Rarity, popularity, value, etc.??
