Re: Got a new truck
WE did some work.
This was a few days ago Yesterdays work sorry for bad pic. it was wleded mostly yesterday but finished it up today, got the other side made and tacked, weld it up tomarrow, And finishing up the back half, or at least most of it. And the backhalf wil be done this weekend. We will start on the middle cage, I am going to with a exo cage. Hopefully we get the heims soon, so it will roll again. And wheel it! Should be wheeling in a month at best. We picked up my other truck yesterday, it ran great a little loud, no stereo and boggers going down the highway.

Re: Got a new truck
I have a 14 for the rear end and working on getting a 60 front, i was thinking about a 44 or 10 for the frontend until i get a 60 which would work, with my 35s form my other truck. which i mostly will run until i can get bigger tires.

Re: Got a new truck
Well i burnt my hand on a weld accidently touching it when trying to find the degree. But, it feels a little better, i classifed it as a 2nd degree major burn, because its bistered, and bigger than 2", I do not think is a 3rd because its not dark.
I will get a pic later, and some progress pics, my dad was still working when i was soaking it so we got some done, I was telling him what i wanted him to do. The back is almost done being braced.

Re: Got a new truck
Because the cost of regearing, and that not being the gears i want. If i regear i want to get 5.13 or 5.38s, so i can have a super low crawl ratio. I am thinking grnny low, 205 low and a 5 axle would give me about 20/1

Re: Got a new truck
5.38 would give you more like a 70.6:1.
4:88 would net you bout 64:1 (i cant remember what the granny first gear really is so i used bout 6.7:1 x 1.96:1x given gear.) either ratio you do go with you have a pretty darn good crawl ratio. |

Re: Got a new truck
I thought g low was like 2 to 1 but i'm not sure, but i am thinking of maybe ddoing the 4.88.
we cut the top off, my dad regrets it and i kinda do but, the cage would have being a a lot harder to build with it and rust was falling off, so i think we did the best thing, next time i build a truck i want to keep the top on.

Re: Got a new truck
I will get a few, don't make fun of my welding it has gotten better, a lot better. The real welds holding it together are great beads that my dad did but the ones over it aren't good because i was trying to fill the gaps at the corners. A quarter inch bead in 2 spots on a tube will not break hitting it with a small sledge so it should be good.

Re: Got a new truck
I also plan on weldig a bar right next to the plate, perpendicular to the ground, for additional strength, between the bars.

Re: Got a new truck
I think my 35 boggrs from my other truck seeing as it doesn't need them for pavement pounding. And no money.
I want 44 boggers, or rockers. Maybe if i am lucky my uncle will let me use his 44 truxs tires, not really aggersive but should work.
