I think you'll be pleased with it. Like you said if it messes up, you can always shoot it again!

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
I like the arms and shaved antenna! I got thru shaving my whole cowl a while back. It adds a nice touch and keeps trash from biulding up in the cowl. I'm a little extreme though lol. Great work though. How you liking the weather over there? Heard Oklahoma got it hard, we are right inside a clear area, it's bad all around us. It's going to hit below freezing tonight though.

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
0331 grunt; looks like an ambitious project. Would like some more recent pictures to inspire those that are just geting started such as myself. One of my initial ascessments is that I need the support from under the cab floor to the frame. This includes the rubber mount as well. Any ways this is a pic of what I'm starting with, it runs and drives. I have had it since about 82. Though it hasn't been on the road since about 87. bushy

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Bushy, looks like a good place to start. I don't know if I have any advice for you, just learn everything you can from this site, it has been a great wealth of knowledge for me. I am pretty much just learning as I go.. so far so good ...
Here is what I have done over the past few days. The springs are supposed to be orange, will repaint again.. The frame is looking good, I think.. Here is why I haven't got much done to the cab yet...

The frame looks really good! You probably already said but what paint are you using? How do you think it will hold up?thanks
ps, your springs definetly look orange....not the best color for this area.

Frame looks great! Still love the hammered finish, looks really good. So the white afro on the truck is stopping you from working on it???? Yep....I need some coffee.

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Too many highrollers in here with their highroller help lol. It just got old fast! I just swing in to see Craigs build this biuld and that's about it.
Oh and Craig, my shops cold but I want to insulate it soon so itl be tolerable for next winter and to minimize heat. It's not that big, 20x22 but just has a 9ft door so it's just a 1 car for now maybe could be 2. |

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
Didnt get much done over the weekend here. Got the frame flipped over, couple of coats of paint on the top side, the tranny cross member cleaned/primed and one coat. Spent some time thinking about ideas... Does anyone know where I could find a decent deal on a bead roller? Never used one, but seen them in action (thanks youtube!) and got me thinking about some interesting ideas... Other than that, got some quail smoked! mmm. delicious!

Re: 69 long fleet- First build
That would be the plan. I want to get some 2.5" dropped spindles and 4" lower springs in the rear. I think that will be enough for me. We will just have to see. I may just put it together and drive it for a while like it is... who knows But it is good to see progress!
