Re: CTrow's Truck

Anyone interested, selling the motor and trans in the classified section.

Going to be a long time before I can work on this project again and I don't want the engine just sitting around. Too much done to just collect dust.

Wow! So sorry to hear about the misfortune you are having. Hope you get back on track with the build and good luck with the engine sale. BTW, who needs Dave Ramsey anyway? life is too short to not enjoy it to the fullest.

Re: CTrow's Truck

Yeah, but if you are patient, and stick with the DR plan, you will soon be able to afford way more truck and engine than you would have if you hadnt ............

Re: CTrow's Truck

So the project is officially on hold for awhile.

I've sold the motor/trans and the wheels/tires.

I have a court date set for March 1 with the painter in small claims. As you can see by the picture of the bed, prep work wasnt a priority. He told me at one point he took the bed sides all the way down to metal but as you can see that wasnt true. You can see the bed color on the way to the paint shop and then see it still in the picture where it flaked out.

In the mean time I bought a 2004 GMC Sierra and I'm pretty happy about it. At least I can go jump in it and drive it. And for thos DR folks, not it's not in his plan but what can I say, I fell off the wagon. And with the motor/wheels sale, I'm not that far off track.

Thanks for everyones support. Maybe in another year or so you'll see more progress.

Man, I am really sorry to hear that. Hope you win big time in small claims and eventually when you're ready to get back on the project you find a great body guy/painter!

Re: CTrow's Truck

Sorry to hear about the outcome. However, I know first hand the guy is a moron. We'll probably have to see him in court to get our money too.

I am a little upset though that you told us about the 04, and no pics.

If I put up pictures, then people would know who I was

Actually I've had the interior torn apart the last couple of weeks cleaning it while the weather was crappy. I've had it almost 2 1/2 weeks and diven it 4 times total. 1 of which was driving it from Tulsa the day I bought it.

It's nothing special I assure you though. Just a clean dark grey GMC Sierra.

I'll post after the court date the results.

Re: CTrow's Truck

I have an 03 Sierra 1500HD and really enjoy it. Our 03 Tahoe is the dark charcoal/black metallic. Love it too.

You'll really enjoy the new truck. It's nice to just get in one and drive and not worry about if it's going to start, or what's going to break.

Re: CTrow's Truck

Eh, nothing of good quality. I guess if I'm to be serious I need to get better pics up, huh? Really the whole body is in primer but it's in pieces (excluding the fenders which I think I have pics of that are now painted black)

The truck is at my parents house which is over an hour away. If someone is serious I can get pics. Just need a serious buyer to do so.

Re: CTrow's Truck

It's there now. Took some time to load. Some weekend I'll probably go down and take some 'inventory' pics but with the holidays and other stuff, just need to find time.

Thanks for the comments, I hope you're right! And nice work on the inner fenders!!

Was checking out your thread due to the for sale post. What happened with the court date? Hope the body man at least has to make it somewhat right.

Re: CTrow's Truck

Got a settlement in small claims court. He was to pay $400 a month. Hasn't paid once. Took him back to court and he didn't show. So now a bench warrant for him. He will never pay. Court system doesn't allow for the collection of the funds easily. I'm biased but the courts are designed to protect the criminal not provide justice. At least when it comes to small claims.

I hear ya there. My wife's deadbeat ex-husband is still paying back child support, and will probably owe it for the rest of his life. Whenever he does go to court they threaten him of what they could do, and so on, but never do. He has been thrown in county jail twice for a month over it, and sad thing is when he gets out they start the whole process over again. It's crazy.

Cool Re: CTrow's Truck

CTrow,
I am currently in Afghanistan as a contractor for the US Army Aviation. I am very intrested in purchasing the truck, if it is still available. I will be home the first week on July, to Fort Hood Texas (Killeen Area). please advise if you will consider selling the truck, pending that you still have it then. I will make a road trip up there to get it. Will all the associated parts fit on a flat car trailer (rental U Haul probably) and short bed Z71 truck?

I have a buddy who is really intrested in it, and wants me to 'build' it for him, and I think that your truck is an awesome place to meet his goal for what he wants.

AC
