Re: Another Dropmember version???? :)
I thought I had seen you mention it somewhere before, but never anything come of it: any chance of you guys using a coil spring like pictured below? (that's a TCI setup for reference)
Basically, instead of coilovers, an option to run factory style coil springs with the mild version Dropmember. It could use the 'bag style shock mounting bracketry for design simplicity, instead of the through-the-coil setup like the TCI pictured. Your lower control arms (as well as CPP and others) are already coil-capable, so it would just require building a new upper 'coil hat' mount, like the pic (*I think*). Sure, you lose the ride height adjust-ability, but that's only a half inch or so while remaining 'in the sweet spot' of the suspension's intended geometry. Conversely, this could save customers hundreds in coilover costs and may have a certain appeal to those that don't want to stray TOO far from factory components/layout, but upgrade to R&P, with better geometry and ground clearance, under the stock inner fenders, all while using C10 truck parts. Is this a crazy idea? Seems too simple to me...

Re: Another Dropmember version???? :)
It's definitely doable.... hasn't been much interest in it though. A better option in my opinion is to run an air bag with a schrader valve. You can run it static (set height without the expense of an air management system) and still have the ability to adjust or fine tune. Not to mention the ride quality.

Re: Another Dropmember version???? :)
Agreed on the benefits of 'bags, as I run a schrader setup on the rear of my truck. The problems with it, in my experience, are the inherent fluctuations in pressure, and therefore height, due to temperature, leaks, etc.
While this is acceptable to some degree on the rear, these changes in the front suspension will lead to alignment, handling, and tire wear issues. Without some way to positively gauge your set ride height, such as a pressure or height sensor, there's no way of knowing. I envision breaking out the tape measure or yard stick at every stop to ensure your truck is still aligned, or worse yet, driving down the highway slowly leaking air and ruining an expensive 20" tire before you realize your 'bags are leaking... Coil springs are simple, cheap, reliable and capable. For these reasons, I still run factory coils up front-- guess I just wanna have my cake (improved geometry and ground clearance) and eat it too (affordably and reliably). Definietley good points to consider, and we can always find pros and cons to every set-up. Just have to weigh all the options and make the decision that's best for you. I would raise the eyebrow a little to the pressure change argument due to temperature and barometric pressure. It is fact that the pressure will change due to this outside influences.... but I would make the argument that the changes would be negligeable at best. The pressure changes in reference to a leak is much more practical, and a simple set of gauges would keep those of us suffering from ADD and OCD from breaking out the yardstick at every intersection. We have made several "custom" or modified Dropmembers over the years, and are always open to discussing possibilities. Nate

Re: Another Dropmember version???? :)
Previous versions allowed a 10" wide wheel because of the bag mounting location. This looks like it places the 4-bars in approx the same location. The difference would be the location of the CO's vs bags so a 12" wheel might fit. Curious as well....

On this set-up, the lowest point of the coil-over bracket hangs down 9" below the center of the axle tube. That would equate to an 18" wide wheel.

Probably gonna be a few months until it would be a production piece. We can always sell the pre-bent tubing and the plates for those who are ambitious.
Thanks Mike! Thanks Ken! I think it came out alright.
